Sweet video. Nice burble sound you have there. Take a sicky on sunday, it wont hurt.
Steve, Ill be bringing my camera and video camera as well so I can send photos to whoever wants them. My passenger will film so portions of the run as well. Mainly Mt Nebo and Glorious.

I have a turbocharger/intercooler combination for your car now as well. So if you wanna add some herbs, salt the meat, then cook it, i have the BBQ for you.
Was talking to a few people, they say its do-able and legal.
Hey C,
I remember the vapour trail of fuel you leave when meshing the right pedal in your MCS. Aside from the fact that it'd be really cool to light it up at night, especially no that you have achieved a faster flowing exhaust, I have been thinking about this issue. I have researched it and apparently all that fuel has been used to cool things down, not to power the car. This seems inefficient to me so it got me pondering.....
I wonder if you can make a lid for that intercooler to stop the air getting to the top of the intercooler? If you can we could make it an esky top and pack it with dry ice. Cold sinks and heat rises so it makes sense to me that his would achieve a pretty efficient cooling effect. I am sure there are those out there in Mini Land who may have tried or may in fact debunk my theorising, but if it worked and you could reduce the amount of fuel being completely wasted, and burn it instead, surely thats a worthwhile proposition? Especially if we could get a cheap removable lid knocked up for when we do some dyno runs. It'd be interesting that a consumable performance part could be so cheap. Alternatively we just remove that garden watering system and spray CO2 onto the IC.
Yes very funny. The energy in/out equation does not bode well there. The Cold ice is energy already trapped and usable for "free" as far as cost to HP goes.
All you have to do is contact this guy for the exhaust manifolding if it works out cheaper than getting it made locally and then all the piping can be done locally. http://www.mini2.com/forum/revolutio...n-project.html
I think that there is an opportunity to shorten up the piping and use a standard R56 Air to Air IC over the top I.e Subby style. This would shorten up the piping significantly and assist with efficiency. We know there is room under a Cooper S Bonnet but a few mods or a change wouldn't hurt?. Might be a good opportunity to do something different with the Coopers bonnet if it works out cost effective. Have to vent the Cooper Bonnet! Obviously there is room for it all to fit. Might have to few bits here and there but nothing major by the looks. You'd expect a 20% increase in power without lag if you did you the new Turbo. Depending on the compression ratio would be the safe boost levels.
Good ol Jan at RMW, is there anything he hasn't done to minis? As tempting as it is though, it wont be cheap. Id need a new gearbox, ecu tune, head, cam and new pistons. But if I do I would have your Brrraaaahhhhh PSHHHHH sound.
Ill work on the suspension next. My goal for that is to have the front wheel nearly tucked, and the back wheel tucked and flush with a bit more than playing card clearance. "Hella Flush" status ftw.

Yeah good luck with that!!!!! That is what I pretty much had and it wasn't fun driving around as i had to watch where I went. The height mine is at now is really good. Not too high and not too low. Just gotta do some grinding on the strut towers and then get the suspension set up.
Yeah unfortunately I am back up here. Won't be back now till around the 22nd of June. It is a bit cold up here as well but Not too bad during the day. Just gotta sort out another issue that popped up while Putsy and I worked on the car but not a major problem. I am really keen to get out on a run with you guys as well so I can't wait for it to be done!!!!
ive seen afew people cheat on dynos with my car, put bags of ice ontop of the intercooler
as far as that burble is concerned, its the overrun used to cool down the internals... id rather stuff live
07BPB i think you should bite the bullet and invest in a real car already ! i drove a R56 cooper today and it felt quite ... gutless TBH :'( im so used to having my car sit in 6th at 50+ km/h and being lazy.... went to pull onto a highway in 2nd doing 60 and it felt like it had less power than mine in 6th doing the same speed !
as for ride height, i took my car to Brisbane BMW today to get the damn engine emissions light turned off and for them to have a quick look over .... they couldn't get into onto the hoist !
hmm and i don't know about the weekend atm, it seems like a long run and my fuel light just came on .... i spent $200 on go karting today and then stopped off at the local tavern and played some pokies .... very VERY bad idea ! ... maybe ill just come for lunch or something ?

1. I like my R50. It may not have the power but I still love it. I have never driven an S and I don't think Id want to; then ill be tempted to upgrade. Besides I have enough planed for mine anyway.
2. How do you go about jacking your car up? Put it up on ramps and then jack it up or do you have a low hydraulic jack at home?
3. If your going to come for the lunch then come on the whole trip. When we get out to Mt T. we are having lunch, which is pretty much the whole point of the cruise. Ill see you on sunday.

Lift your car up C, if the cops do a car sarch on you and see the height of it then they will defect you. You just need to get it to 100mm. Which still makes the car sit pretty low. Mine is about 105mm to the side skirt at the back of the front wheel. I'll be interested to see what it is when the front bar goes back on. I had to buils a ramp to get the car out of the garage, otherwise it would scrap!!! Don't be stupid when lowering your car 07, You lower it too much and you won't be able to drive it anywhere plus the added bonus of being pulled by the copsfor it being illegal. Plus being really low I think plays havoc with your wheel bearings and at $250 a wheel it ain't cheap. Also if you have done some research a real low car doesn't handle that good either, but then again you'll never get to go that quick anyway!!!!!
its really only the front guard that little flap underneath is that makes it not meet the 100mm requirement ... more like 65mm :S other than that it sits at around 110mm all the way around... or i could just harass tom to fit the camber plates sitting in my boot
07 if i do turn up on sun for lunch ill let you take it for a spin to convert you while im enjoying a nice .... hmm haven't quite decided part yet.
I just relised the QR sprint day i want to attend on the 1st July is on my 21st ..... drinking or driving .... hard decision
Tom also i think you should set Aaron straight he was trying to tell me a need a JCW map for the bigger injectors, he wouldnt believe me when i told him the DME adapts and changes the cycle of the injector.
i came up with a list of what i want to get done in the next month or 2
Finish Aero grill install
Camber plates
Black 17" lightweight wheels + R888 semi slicks
Braided SS brake lines
Paint calipers red
Black out chrome and blacken skirts
Gauges - Boost / Oil temp
