we sorta had a go from standing start was quite even, but he is abit hesitant to push it past 5500 as hes only done 900k's , another reason for backing off at ~85, thats why im hoping he comes to byron bay, rack up afew K's, noone makes FMIC's for r53s :'( Mini madness do water to air IC although for the kinda money 1395 euros
New Mini Product | Charge Cooler & Intercooler unit for CooperS
im sure you could spend it on a good TMIC maybe the alta v2 ? and some shiney new extractors ? or maybe even get some port and polishing happening ?

Thumbs up

Have attached a photo from the track day at QR. How good does the rear plate line up with the striping!

Yes the grey one beside me is Gregg. I have posted another picture showing three minis that were there on the day. Yes the chubby bloke walking towards the camera is me.

Yes his Mini was quicker than my standard R56 MCS around the track. I won't make excuses for that. I am sure if he logs on he might have something to add to that.

I think it was 50% tires and 50% far superior driving skills

I know you have read it elswhere, but Steve & I definitely proved that the new R56 is as quick in standard form as the R53 JCW. We spent alot of the day chasing each other around QR and I can tell you that any gains either of us made on each other was done under brakes or by carrying more speed thru the corners as there was nothing between us down the straights (assuming we carried the same speed into the corner).

...but then of course the R56 has an LSD which my R53 is missing so if Steve sorts out his tyres I will battling to keep the edge on him as the LSD has go to be worth at least 1 Second on the Clubman track at QR

Ah, Hang on, now that I think of it did I mention all the safety benefits of keeping your Runfalts Steve. It really could be dangerous for you to switch tyres and it may even affect your warranty ... yes, yes, it's definitely better you stick with those runflats

Very nice... in that pic you can see that the "New" MINI ain't soo "MINI" anymore... in size that is... still rather nice tho!

If the world didn't suck we'd all fall off!

I am going to a Sherrin Motorsport day at QR next Friday. Bit exxy though. Looks like I'll be going to a few tracks with my new setup so i better purchase a helmet.

Oh and Gregg---- "50% far superior driving skills" Whatever you reckon Pres.

Cal, yes you should come out on a quieter day so we can get some footage of me overtaking you.
We actually have some footage of me being overtaken by Gregg's "superior driving ability". But hopefully now that i have a JCW kit and mods as well we may- just may- see the close to that chapter.

Then again i hear those camber adjustment plates for the R53 are available now so maybe not.

Hahaha sane? Not me.

Going down the engine mod line first and the NOS was going to be the icing on the cake.
It's in today for a full turbo back exhaust, then on friday it gets it's Harding Performance Chip, then hopefully if Alta get back to me, It will have it's new intercooler within the next couple of weeks.

Funny thing, a pre-exhaust dyno this morning showed up 115kw at the wheels. Will be interesting to see the figures that the exhaust gains.

And yes everyone, the Sherrin Motorsport/ Motorline MINI track day is on next friday. PM me for details.

Mate why don't you just buy your stuff from www.outmotoring.com I buy all my parts from him. He is very good on price and he has it shipped here within a week. He sells all of the Alta gear.

Pity I wasn't at QR I might have shown you how to do it :-) That is unless Gregg was running his slicks.

Camber plate, I might have to take another look into that since the Aus$ is doing so well.
