If your going to buy the unichip Steve, don't go with the maps they supply. They are s@#* house. They will make your car come close to detination and bring your dash on like a Xmas tree. If I had of gone with the map they supplied my engine wouldn't be alive today!! The only way is to custome tune it. With that you need to find someone that can access the Overseas Unichip module. But once you get that it is quite easy

Yeah, i heard about this sort of experience, but the business relationship that Alta has struck up with Unichip sounded good. Alta have custom maps for each individual R56 now. So what they say is that if i nominate what i have eg: I have a Gtt Stealth Dump pipe, I have the JCW kit fitted, and the Alta bits like Alta IC, IC piping + cold Air Intake: they then create a map for those mods. It was this custom approach and the fact that no frigging about with wiring i liked. The plug and play feature was really attractive as well as the price (and the good exchange rate )Alta have been quite good to me so far and there are other alternatives i know, so i was going to wait until Matt from Motorline got his German Chipping and mapping done and see how he goes. On another note, the Ginger Factory Run is on your side of town, you coming along? Rack a few k's up on the red beast. I have already knocked over 15000k's on mine. I still can't wait to buckle myself in i must admit. Just love driving it and minis like it. Gregg's is nippy and handles like a cart as well. (Plus he's got that whine thing happening- gotta love that )

Unfortunately I can't, I have to work up at noosa this saturday Which is a real pain, but maybe next time. Plus I am still in the middle of getting the car tuned properly. Gotta take the Oversized crank pulley and Alternator Pulley off and put the stock ones on first. Then Put my water-to-air intercooler in. While they are doing that I am getting the mechanic to put some Blue Silicone Radiator hoses in. All this just to reduce the heat from the supercharger!! Can't tune it properly and they reckon I might gain some kW's out of it. Plus I have to get a new Unichip Harness as mine is the older version, My Flux receiver isn't working with it, so they are sending over a new one for me, also I have to get me cat fixed as it is just rattling around in the case!!! So just a few fix ups to do and she should be good to go. I know with the way it is at current though the water/Meth netted me 20WHP. So that was on the upside!!

Yeah but to only a certain degree. The eaton supercharger is renouned for heat when you spin it too fast. I guess this is why the JCW kit only went to a 15% reduction ( Or their abouts, I think it was something like 14.2 or something stupid like that) I suppose If I found one that was cheap enought I would swap out, But for the moment I will just reduce it reduce the Crank pulley down to stock size. When I posted on NAM about this I had all the main tuners pipe in and say what a good idea that was and I was doing the right thing, this coming from tuners!! I guess you are talking about the JCW supercharger as well. I do know their was a guy selling one in the States but I am not too sure how much for. Maybe I might have a look

| Hey all, Been a long time without a MINI but now back in the market for one. Like many of the founding clubMINI members, kids forced the sale of my beloved MINI but I have approval from the Minister for War and Finance to buy another. This will be my fourth MINI For those of you who don't know me, I have had a Cooper and two Cooper S' (all liquid yellow and brand new) but this time I'm after a 2nd hand "S" in VGC condition and thought I'd start my hunt here because as we know enthusiasts and clubMINI member generally look after their's. I am also looking on CarSales.com.au in Queensland and NSW. Keen to hear from anyone looking to sell the following (all these are preferable things not necessarily must haves except it must be an “S”): •Cooper S •2003-2005 •Will look at a 2002 if it had all the warrantee things done (cooler bottle/seatbelt issue/airbag light and the list went on… • 17” S’lites • At least half leather •Multi function steering wheel •Sunroof (but not stressed if it hasn’t) •It has had its correct dealership servicing (and logbooks) •The car’s body and interior close to perfect - oh and reasonably low k's So again, anyone out there looking to sell their pride and joy (I know how sad it can be) either PM me or call me on 0416 175 062.
