Talking Three years unlimited kilometre warranty now standard for all new MINI’s

Just heard from my dealer that BMW group Australia have announced (or are about to) that, effective today, all new Mini's (and BMW's ) now come with three years unlimited kilometre warranty as standard (about time though ).

Apparently this new policy will be back dated to anyone that picked up a car after 1 March which includes me

Well, thats sounds pretty good!!
So, does that mean if you purchased an extended warranty, it is now 4 years???

So any words on extending the warranty to 5 years? doubt it they will as they should know by now plenty of repair jobs will be submitted in the last 12-18 months of the warranty lol.

Me either!! I thought that is what they came with, and when "Megan" spat the dummy at Eastern Creek, was surprised to find out that it was only a 2 year warranty.

Bu99er, I think this means "Scarlett" misses out by a couple of weeks We picked her up on the 10th February.

Wahooo - that's sensational news!! I've been a little disappointed about the 2 year warranty, but if it's changing to three years and mine is going to be back-dated I'll be tickled pink!

...the car is no different to the one delivered in the US....why shouldn't it have the same sort of warranty?

....3 years.....wow-wee...

Still...and improvement is an improvement....

I always thought that was strange, but even stranger is that Canadian delivered cars have a 4 year warranty!!!

Generally, the manurfacturer will only provide a 1 year factory warranty - in this case BMW Germany. Then it's up to the local distributor - BMW Aus - to provide the rest... Hence the differences in varying countries even though the product is the same.

Or is that not the case these days?
