spare a thought for sophie

Most of us are aware who sophie delezio is. She's the brave little girl that suffered terrible burns when a car ran into her daycare centre a few years ago. her and her family have been battling hard since that day.

today, in another cruel twist, sophie was run over by a car. (reportedly on a pedestrian crossing) she is again in hospital in a critical condition. her battle begins again.

When i heard this it made me feel sick.

best of luck little one. keep fighting.

edit: if you are so inclined you can leave a message of support for Sophie on the guestbook http://www.wishesforsophie.com

I love Warsaw. Where else can you hug a pole?

If you have any information, any information at all, please contact me as I'm writing an encyclopaedia.

For a tiny one who has been through all of that stuff just past - to have to battle again ... just ain't fair. As they said on the radio - someone in heaven really wants her up there.
Let's hold on to her here ...
Pray if you do that - or just focus some healing thoughts in her direction.

I honestly had a few tears for that little angel. So much pain, and so young. Just could'nt believe it...
I really do hope theres a higher power out there that takes care of that little girl.

When the news headlines came on I thought they were playing an old tape! My wife and I just sat there shocked.

This poor little baby is one of the bravest people I have ever seen and she's five years old..I add my support to these messages.....Say a prayer for Sophie...whether you believe in prayers or not...send some positive thoughts to her!

Hey mates I'll keep her in my prayers. It never hurts to have prayers coming from both sides of the planet!

I can't even begin to imagine what Sophie and her family are going through right now. It was not only a pedestrian crossing, but a school pedestrian crossing - and as it was around 4pm it may have been a 40kph zone.

It just doesn't bare thinking about Sophie having to go through anything like this after all she has been through. She is a truly special little girl and my heart is breaking for her and her family. It just shows you how bloody unfair life can be.....

Lots of positive thoughts coming your way Sophie.

Good on ya Rick!

This little girl was seriously...and I mean seriously...injured when a car crashed into her pre school building a couple of years ago. She (and another little girl) suffered pretty horrific injuries such as burns over most of her body and the loss of fingers. She celebrated her fifth birthday just the other day and it was a main news story..

Every news story I saw her on she was smiling! It is quite unbelievable that she is going through this!

She has suffered chest and head injuries but a news flash tonight said that her head injury isn't as serious as first thought...She is, however, on life support and will be in intensive care for a while to come..

Sounds like it was a terrible accident and I hope she recovers quickly. Her family must be wondering what they did to deserve such bad luck.

But I don't think we will ever really know what happened, because the driver is going to get the blame anyway. When it came on and they showed where it happened I was hoping that she wasn't on the pedestrian crossing, as it was so far away. If she was on the crossing the car must have been going at a fairly high speed

I too heard this on the news last night and was stunned.
I hope and pray she makes a full recovery.

Slow down in school zones

they WERE on the pedestrian crossing, the car allegedly overtook another car that had stopped at the crossing, and hit her pram, throwing her about 18 metres.

I hadn't heard that at the time. The driver has been charged with failing to give way at a pedestrian crossing, and negligent driving.

This is just the saddest story, I was travelling home with a mate yesterday when we heard the news, he had attended a fund raiser recently for her and their table had raised over
26K for the family and ongoing support (this was before yesterday's accident) He was devastated at the news.

You will read elsewhere in this forum that I have deicded to upgrade my MINI, but having heard this news I will also make a contribution to any fund their is for Sophie, I am proposng to all our ClubMINI members that they too over the next few drives, Pirate Days, MINIkahna etc that we might all think about putting in a little for this brave girl. If there is similar thoughts out there I am happy to make all the arrangements.

Vic
