i didnt really like the centre tacho at first either. i always thought a mini had to have the speedo in the centre of the dash but now i quite like the current set up. and its the first thing people comment on when they look inside the minster. jeez look at the size of that tacho.

I too like my Tacho BIG and in the middle. I guess the speedo there would be nice too. I wonder when I can get a HUD tacho and speedo?

Depends what sort of shift lights we're talking about. I'm talking about proper ones like the one we saw, the JCW one - they have the "lead-up" etc... not the monster "You know its time to change gear when you can't see anything but a big blue light in your eyes" ones.

They have aftermarket HUD's in the states but we couldn't use them here unless you've got a post-Jan 06 car that has the OBDII enabled.

Oh dear, Mine is just too old then. Luckily I love it just how it is..... for now anyway.

I thought they were all enabled? Or is that only for the service intervals and engine codes (ie no real time rev / speed output)?

Thats so true!! i rememebr years and years ago when i first saw one, i was so so excited to see the blue light flash, until the blue light did flash.. because i was staring at the light and did not know how bright that thing was. The driver didnt warn me lol !
