Centre Speedo for 06 Model

Reading Motor today and read that the ADR's should be scrapped by December this year.

This means that Aust will now follow the EU design rules.

YAY!!!! Center Speedo Finally can't wait and looks like it's time for me to update in 06

Still not sure of the Turbo though

I LOVE our center tach!

I want the information that's going to keep the fuzz from giving me a bloody fine right in front of me....

Nah, I've got a 67 Cooper S with centre speedo and it's much much much easier to read.

I think Snoopy will be happy with this news He actually bought and fitted a center speedo and managed to get it going

Hi,

When we were in Tassie recently we had some kind of 4wd soft roader, that had a speedo smack in the middle of the dash, and was less visible than the mini centre gauge It seems other companies can get things past the ADR's

Cheers

Hmm don't believe everything you read.....MINI could have been suppling center mounted speedo since over 1 year ago (can't remember the date) but what is changing is all new cars from 1 July 2006 must comply with the new ADR which does not state were the speedo is to be placed ( it is a copy of the EU STD).

So I can't not see the current model every coming with a center mount speedo...aka no GP But as for the new model I don't know if they will stay with center tacho, as the cost of this product change must be high...so i think we will see a center speedo on the next model.

Still working on my center mount speedo.

I am glad the speedo is on the column, wouldn't like it in the centre

Its actually much more natural in the center I find, you can see it in your periferal (sp?) vision a lot better. Oh, and the top of it isn't chopped by the steering wheel .

ha you n00b. I know this idiot with an integra VtiR with a monster tacho that's 300 rpm off his OEM tacho. I asked him "is your normal tacho incorrect?" and he said "nah its the monster tacho." Why would you bother. And the shift light how hard is it to know when to shift. I understand if it's an accelerometer-driven shift light, but you can program this one What's the difference between looking at the light or the rev-counter?

Shift lights are useful when racing as you can't always hear properly with a helmet on your head. On saying that, big lights are a bit silly .

A perfect example was the one you saw yesterday .

yeh i guess that makes sense, but how many ppl with shift lights actually go racing? I see them on the slowest of the slow, like lancers and the like. ppl with huge rims, heavier bodywork, etc. You can't tell me these ppl race.
