found this .......

hi guys i just found this on ebay ! what do you think...........................????

Quote: Originally Posted by eBay

Kit includes:

- Aluminium Pulley

- Serpentine Belt

By replacing the factory supercharger pulley with a smaller pulley (15% reduction in size) you are increasing the speed at which the supercharger turns therefore increasing the boost pressure. From the factory, the Mini Cooper S runs 10psi (11psi if you have replaced the air filter with a pod filter). After changing to this pulley the pressure will rise to 15psi (16psi if you have changed the air filter).

Beware pulley kits which promise 17psi or even 19psi as these sorts of boost pressure put too much stress on the engine and can cause damage and engine fatality. With such high boost water temperature tends to rise to a dangerous level and the engine overheats.

I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.... not when an Alta can easily be had for $190 with the belt.
Not worth the risk to save $80.

well we all know a few manufacturers that have had their pullies tried and tested with members on both mini2 and NAM, and it's not recognizeable to us. We can pay a little extra and fit something that we know is not a dodgy product, whereas with that blue pulley, we're taking a chance..

Thanks for your help. Now I don't know whether to try it or not. I bought an air filter of ebay and that has been pretty good.

Is there any manufacturers identification with it?
That might help people decide whether or not it is reliable

I think I know which one - the fake Alta with some unknown brand filter fitted?

The problem is the belt that turns the supercharger also turns the waterpump. So, if it breaks the motor overheats in seconds

you know what might be worth getting in josh? Try and talk to Goodyear about importing some Gatorback supercharger/serpentine belts. There's not many aussie dealers that i know of, if any
