Possible ?

http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsa...ch_distance=25

Im always thinking about upgrading to a S.

Im looking at this MINI, its at Parramatta at a Renault dealer, they are asking $37,990.

Ive got a idea, im thinking if i trade my 04 Cooper with 16,000ks with $10k change over do you think they would take this offer, could it be possible, i know the only way to get a REAL answer is go down & ask them myself its just im curious what you guys think & am i wasting my time ?

Cheers
Daniel

Dan, I take it MINI would not transfer the 3rd year warranty? I'd give it a go and ask them.

The extra warranty is not necessarily a waste Tell them about it, they might be prepared to go up to the next $500 increment on the trade in. It's definitely a positive selling point

I would have thought you could do better than $10,000 if you sold your car privately. 10K sounds quite low to me

Only thing I would ask is why do they list it as CR/B when it is quite clearly CR/W ? Maybe I am just picky

Nothing ventured, nothing gained - why not just go and see whether they will? Worst case scenario is you walk away with a fair idea of what your current car is worth as a trade in. Besides, you can always use the old "well, another dealer has offered me $xxxx, so I need to think about it" - if they try and pressure you at all.

Go for it Daniel - you will never regret upgrading to an S

Probably close to $15 change over.

You have to remember that they have to turn around and re-sell your car and still make money on it.

Then comes next year...you might probably be saying "the new shape is growing on me...maybe I'll wait till they drop a bit in price".

Hmm.....i reckon you can get the dealer to drop the price of that MCS a little more. I know of an 05 MCS Chilli, 9k kms that sold late last year for $39ish. That was a great buy for whoever picked it up.
