| Twincharge??? | 2 months ago, my 72k '02 MCS is worth $24k to a few wholesalers I work with...and that was padded up given I know them what you see advertised now isn't necessarily their selling prices either as the redbook says it's around the $26-28k mark. |

Offline | It's probably been said, but try and get at least a 2004 model spec (probably from September 03 build). That will have the multi function steering wheel (MFSW) as standard, and the thumb grips on the two spoke wheel as well. By and large most of the production issues were sorted by then, although there are still some nasty ones floating around. Check the expansion tank at the back of the engine bay for signs of leaking. Not a major problem and a relatively easy fix, but something to look out for. Good luck. ![]() ![]() |

| MINI Traitor | I would concur with the others, try and buy the latest car you can. Even if you can scrape into the early 03 update (April ish build) you'll be better off. You can recognise these cars from the thumb grips on the steering wheel and I think they got MFSW standard. As per anything though, inspect and you'll see how its been looked after I'd rather have an older car that has been babied rather than a newer one that had lived in dog years. Our recent experience of looking for MINI substitute until the traveller comes has shown us that not everyone looks after their possessions as we do ![]() |

Offline | Got myself an MCS Well, thanks for all the words of advice to everyone who has contributed to this thread. I have managed to secure myself a new ride, and I am stoked. ![]() I have purchased a 2003 (June build) Indy Blue/White MCS with the JCW kit on board ![]() ![]() ![]() 60,000k's, stripes, spotties, partial leather, and a sunroof - not just any sunroof though - it has the Electric Folding Roof option (some of you may have seen this on Carsales - it is a great car) Got it well within my budget and have already racked up a few k's - these things go great (except it has a alight 'stumble' which I will need to sort out - will get Klosters to check the software version)I will post some pics up soon - just finished washing it and need to take my boy out for a ride Josh |
