For god sake, dont get the Jaycar amp's, they are dreadfull for sound quality!!!

If you need more help, dont hesitate to contact me via pm or msn.

Cheers,

:O Well there you go! I don't need splits! Funny thing is that the MINI module comes with new splits! (Might be either to up the power rating - a big jump from 10w / channel to 165w / channel peak - or maybe a diff freq.

Do you know if crossovers are easily toasted by overloading?

And it's good to get feedback on the sound quality issue. So hard to find any reviews where people actually plug these things in and LISTEN to them! Hell, if I have the cash I may even stack two Alpines!

The crossovers in the MCS consist of just a simple capacitor inline with the tweeter, and yes it wouldnt take too much power to fry it. 50WRMS would be ok, but much more would destroy the capacitor and/or the tweeter

Just as an update I've just booked the car in on Monday to have the new system fitted:
- Alpine PDX 4 150 (in the right rear corner)
- 6" components up front in the original holes
- 6x9" coaxial splits in the back
- dynamat doors, sides, boot

Will post a report once it's all in. Might be the first report on th PDX on this site!

Haha! Probably not likely!

Cause I'm doing a whole system he's already doing trade prices (or close to) on alot of the associated bits (speaker to RCA adaptors, Dynamat, power & audio cabling kit.

He was helpful too. Spent alot of time chatting about it. He also convinced me that one amp is enough. Later on I can always stack a second!

Big problem is that the amp is starting to exceed the rating of the beefiest Alpine speakers. The speakers I'm getting are from another manufacturer, and are rated above the amp.

So if I stack a second amp later on the speakers can go harder, and I'll just have to wind the gain back a little (they won't cope with the full force of a bridged amp).
