Bugger, I / we (my wife and I) have scuffed all four of the alloys on our MINI

What should I do?

i'd go option 3, there's some good step by step guides around. That way I can give you a hand and see how it goes before trying it on my s-heavies

Is this only for Aussie owners or can we all vote?

Why not? I was wanting to see if any Aussies had tried option 3

You read my mind. I was speaking to another MINI owner today that had polished one of his 5 spoke 16's.

All input welcome

Well then I suppose it depends on how badly scuffed they are and whether you can live with them like that. Personally I'd leave it until I was ready to sell. Unless they're really bad.

I sure hope you didn't manage to kerb all four wheels at the same time

I'd be tempted to splash out for a new set, they are never the same after being refurbed - they might look great but they never seem to go as smooth

Alas the wheels were kerbed at different times, I did 2 at a carwash and my wife did one during the week avoiding another car on the wrong side of the road in a car park and I think the last one went out on sympathy to the others

I guess it's at a turning (pardon the pun) point about keeping or not keeping the wheels

If you can afford it, get another set. If money is an issue, then try to repair them yourself, I guess. Sounds like you'd get some help

I'd say give them a go and try repairing them yourself - worst case senario you've gotta buy another set which you would have had to anyway.

Hmm I have done both option 1 and option 2. It's great to have another set in the garage.

I got mine repaired cause when I bought them they had kerbing on them. For $50 for machining and about $150 for paint, you would never know.

Also the second set were thanks to WorksRacer

got some silver wheel paint and tried it on a spare wheel in the shed.... let's just say I'm glad I didn't try a mini wheel first. surface preparation may have been somewhat lacking

That's what I would say. Or option 4, or options 1 or 2.

Now that is helpful
