I'm not sure if I do I think that I would have to see one in the flesh. The new shape in pictures does little for me it may be that in the flesh it will appeal but at the moment I will stay with my 2006 Jcw Mcs.

One of the nice things about the current Mini is that the JCW kit is retrofittable. I deliberately got a late build R53 which I plan on keeping long term. In a couple of years time, I'll save up and get the JCW kit fitted which should give it a new lease of life

I'm sure it will be great, but I'm going to reserve judgement on the R56 until I see/hear/drive it in the flesh

Am a bit torn on the R56 - love my supercharger but also love the look of the new interior. Wont know till I test drive one though.

All a bit academic tho, have no plans to get rid of mine before I have finished paying for it. Given my cars high mileage and general state of trashed, I simply cannot afford to.

Very interested in the traveller tho

hmmm... probably not

However, if MINI bring the traveller to Aus, and if they price it reasonably, and if we like it we will buy a traveller

I am concerned that it will end up being $5+k more than a equivalent GTI though

I'll be waiting to see the JCW version. I suspect the price will be over the top. Nothing in the new model makes me want to change from the supercharged model.

Nope

I specifically grabbed a supercharged car after driving turbo cars (Audi A4 & TT) for the last 7 years. I much prefer the low down grunt & urgent whine goading me to keep driving

No more turbos for me!

m.

PS. I really didn't want a Cooper S until I drove one, I fell in love about 100 metres into the test drive and I just had to have it.

Nope....it looks like they tried to hard to make changes without appearing to make any....I'm very dissapointed in it....

Hate the new headlights, taillights, front grille and console setup.

I'd like to think my next car could be a 350Z...

NEVER,
If i want a turbo ill buy japanese. The supercharger whine and feel give the little sucker a personality of its own.I have my own buisness and have driven many make and models from Polo's to F430's and M5's, they are great cars and just like them the mini has a character of its own. GTi golfs, 130's and renaults just blend together as Euro fours do and once turbo comes it will just be like any other 4cyl turbo.
But thats Just MY opinon.
cheers
michael

A few will be made available for viewing/demo Q1 '07, delivery from Q2 '07. Prices, judging from the European prices, should be up slightly but not much..MINI Aust haven't said anything about the car let alone $.

Yeah I think i'll pass, unless it drives awesome.

Like others, I love the S/C. I have owned a couple of turbo's, which are great, but the s/c just has an unusual appeal. Bit dissapointing really.

Came across two salespersons at the MINI Chase yesterday, they both keep raving on about the Valvetronic tech to make up for the lack of supercharger. Go figure.

Considering they stopped producing the old one a couple of months back, I think we'll get the new one when they run out of the old ones to sell! Q2 is what I had heard though.
