DIY Brake Disc and Pad recommendations?

Well my newly acquired MCS needs some front discs and pads - I have done the search and read past thoughts but wanted to find out the latest thinking.

I was probably going to opt for the DBA 4000 series front discs (slotted only) but just not sure on the pads - these discs are relatively new and there seem to be no posts on people's experince with them

My car will be used 95% day to day driving with 5% motorsport (sprints and hillclimbs) so need a cleanish pad that will not wear out too fast

My initial thoughts were the Ferodo DS2500 based on some reading, but then I saw some guys had had wear problems on slotted rotors with hard driving - otherwise they seem to get good reviews

My other thoughts were Racebrakes RB74's

What recent experience and recommendations have people got for brakes?

Thanks JOSH

HI

I've just bought the DBA4000's and a set of DS2500 to go on my car. Did a heap of looking on here and other forums to see how the pair go together. Couldn't find anything bad about it so I got them.
They will be going on before the PITS Secret Santa, so hopefully everyone can have a look then.

The DBA's can be purchased from any Autobarn/Autopro and the pads I got from Competition Friction in Canberra.

If you don't mind me asking, how much (each) were the DBA4000's?

I've previously gone for the Powerslot discs at $107 ea (front) and $96 ea (rear) plus postage and I'm very happy with them, but would prefer an Aussie product if possible.

The DBA's were $229 each and were on special at Autobarn at the time. Will get the other half to get them on this weekend (if he can get away from the project 4x4) ready for secret santa
