Offline | Too many to thank..but I'll have ago!! Great to meet so many people and what a turn out it was in the end! Good to also put faces to usernames, you where all very welcoming and friendly people who I would have no hesitation in offering the same warm welcome over in England. Too many people to mention but... Smurfin (Jason) great to finally meet you after various posts and PM's later! Snapper (Peter) man your a camera hogging animal! Not really mate just had a looksy over those photos you took and there all great, your a top bloke and a pleasure to meet.2Bob(Bob) you are a demand driver one of the best I've seen (For an old boy) don't be putting the tissues on the parcel shelf just yet! The guy from Victoria with his girlfriend sorry I forget your names lovely to meet you both. Warren, Steve, the 2 Johns an absolute pleasure all of you great company, thanks guys! Ben...Great to see you there today shame you couldn't do the whole run you missed out on some great driving!! Grizzly (Louis) I feel honoured you actually cleaned your car for this run, but dissapeared on the first stop! Your top boy mate esp for attending both runs and taking me a Big Dave over to Port Stevens, remember anybody gives any hassle at all show em a piccie of me and tell em that I'll be over to get em!!! A very spacial thankyou goes to Big Al, what an absolute diamond this lad is, organising on short notice on my behalf such a great bunch of people together for 2 great days The man is a legend, and at no time did I ever tire of our banter over the 20 or so hours we spent in car together. He had his perks though, I plied him with a copy of the Profanisaurus which is an absolute must for any man who still enjoys schoolboy humour!! The Profanisaurus I had a "Wonka moment" while Al was driving .... The terrifying realisation that your "chocolate factory" does, in fact, have a brown river running through it. "As Charlie stuffed his face with all manner of sweet things, an uncomfortable rumbling shook his nether regions. Intending to let out no more than a sneaky parp, the young boy pursed his lips. Sadly the rumbling was not simply gas, but was caused by the chocolate river which was now flowing freely and Charlie knew how Mr Wonka felt." - Early draught of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by Roald Dahl (unpublished, c. 1960). The Mini community can bring people together which in everyday life situations are paths wouldn't cross, and for that I am very thankfull I have made some good friends over here in Oz, who I'm sure will be kept in touch with. Thankyou also goes to all the people I haven't mentioned on the above post Karen, Matt, James and his young lad, all the other couples should also get a mention for making this a Very Memorable trip It will make me smile on the way home I sure, and will always be good memories of the people met on 7th Jan 07 Many thanks to all, Please do contact me if your over in the UK, it's only a smallish place so most areas are easy enough to get to!! Visit Yorkshire it's the best county in the country! Rams PS to those who have never seen any of my videos most of them are on the fist post here http://www.mini2.com/forum/mini-medi...footage-7.html Check em out and wait for yours to be done in eager antiscipation !!!! |

Offline | What a fantastic day. First off I want to sincerely thank all those that participated both at PITS and on the Wiseman’s run. 26 MINIs at 7days notice is a credit to you all. It is a wonderful thing that you all showed such hospitality to a visiting MINI enthusiast. Rams needs no introduction, it is to his credit that he got amongst it and made himself known to as many of you as he possibly could in the time we had. I can’t believe that Rams and I spent 20 hours in the MINI together on the 2 runs, it seems more like a couple of hours, although my acing face from laughing tells me it was more. For me it was fantastic catching up with some of the old crew ( you know who you are) and I am hoping my travel commitments this year allow me to catch up more often, it was a blast. To those that came on their first run with us yesterday, you now know who we are and where we meet up. It was great to have you along and we hope to see you on a lot more runs in the future. Keep you eyes on the forums. To Rams, what can I say mate it was an honor and a pleasure to be able to host these two events for you, Thank you so much for the “Profanisaurus” I am finding it a great resource when typing work related e-mails. (In fact several of my work colleagues are buying the book online from fishpond.com.au ) . I do apologies for causing you a few “Wonka moments” although I too had several , mainly when the only remaining part of you still inside the vehicle were the soles of you shoes while the MINI was traveling at a fair rate of knots. ![]() Once the DVD is finished and ready for distribution I will post a separate thread. So all in all a fantastic day and thanks to all. ![]() GETTING ALL RALLYED UP and a little bit sideways Last edited by GOGADGET : Jan 8th, 2007 at 05:49 AM. |
