Run to the mountains...

Hey folks...

Just been thinking about doing this, so thought maybe can make a run out of it... Anyways, sometime in the next few weeks (after Chinese NY), thinking of driving down to the snowy mountains for a weekend (i.e. Leave Friday night after work, and come back on the Sunday morning).

Anyways, if you guys are interested let me know and see if we can organise something..

Gr1zz.

hey Griz, Club Mini are leaving Sydney on 9th Feb for the Tassy trip. You may want to escort the convoy down the Hume.

Sounds like a plan to rack up some Km's before the end of March!

You're not wrong there! So are you and Sal in?

Lee suggested a stop over in Canberra the Friday night on account of Kangaroos in the middle of the night. Which might not be a bad idea and a 1 nighter in either Thredbo or Jindabyne.

I'd love to but I think I am in Caragabal that weekend (the last in Feb) so effectively 500kms West of Sydney!

Accommodation in Thredbo Village is like from $80 per night per room, for a twin share room to anywhere over. Entirely up to you what you want to spend. Personally I'd spend more for luxury, but I don't think it would matter entirely if we didn't all stay in the same building, since we're all in the same area but each to their own.

My snoring is pretty bad, so I'll just stay in Khancoban I guess.

Yeah would be good if it could be a day trip for those interested - easier to plan one day off work opposed to multiple...! although the distance may be pushing it!

long live the supercharger

Canberra-Cooma-Jindabyne-Thredbo-Khancoban-Adaminaby-Cooma-Canberra would take at over 6 hours I reckon. Thredbo-Khancoban is the pick of those roads, so there's not much point in missing out on that. I have no problems with Sydney people making it a day trip but it would be a big ask.

Mind a PITS run from here usually means a 6am start and 6pm return home.

Well that's up to you guys, but I'll be doing a weekender. I think a day trip down there is a big ask really considering the amount of driving. Do-able but not much time to relax enjoy the scenery, and you do risk being completely knackered on the drive back to Sydney.

I could be a late starter for this one. I will have to wait to see what date you do. I am in Europe at the moment then I have a job on in the Gold Coast when I get back and then have to be in LA for the last week in Feb. 16, 17, 18 Feb are looking good for me at the moment. But I think that is bang on Chinese New Year. Probably a bit early for you?

GETTING ALL RALLYED UP and a little bit sideways
