Offline | Upcoming WA Motorsport Events (2007) Hi All, Perhaps a moderator could make this a sticky ? Anyhow, I thought it about time that a thread be started for WA Motorsport events that are suitable for your road-going MINI. I have attached a calendar that was produced by a friend of mine (thanks Duane). He has collated all the (lets call them) clubsport events from various sources. These are events that you can compete in a MINI with little or no modifications: the same car you drive every day. For speed events (sprints, hillclimbs) you'll need a CAMS 2S licence; for motorkhanas and other non-speed events, you just need a CAMS 2NS licence (the equivalent AASA licence may be required for some events). Hope to see some MINIs shake up things here in WA Cheers, Dave |

Offline | Mini Car Club BEGGINERS Motorkhana Hi All, Thought you might be interested in an event run by the club that I'm involved in (Mini Car Club of WA). It's our annual Beginners Motorkhana where drivers can experience what motorkhanas are all about at a non-competitive event. A number of different types of Motorkhana "tests" will be set up and "experts" will be on hand to give some tuition and advice. Details: Sunday, March 18 AHG Driving Centre Please PM me for more info. Cheers, Dave |

Offline | Hi All, The Mini Car Club Beginners Motorkhana was a huge success, attracting a number of new competitors, including many juniors. BTW, Motorkhanas are the only form of "car based" motorsport in Australia that allow drivers as young as 12 to compete. Two MINIs were entered: Lisa Bruce 01 MC Dave Elliott 02 MCS Both MINIs did very well, although my handbrake wasn't as effective as I would have liked. Cheers, Dave |
