| Mini Car Club BEGGINERS Motorkhana Hi All, Thought you might be interested in an event run by the club that I'm involved in (Mini Car Club of WA). It's our annual Beginners Motorkhana where drivers can experience what motorkhanas are all about at a non-competitive event. A number of different types of Motorkhana "tests" will be set up and "experts" will be on hand to give some tuition and advice. Details: Sunday, March 18 AHG Driving Centre Please PM me for more info. Cheers, Dave |

| Hi All, The Mini Car Club Beginners Motorkhana was a huge success, attracting a number of new competitors, including many juniors. BTW, Motorkhanas are the only form of "car based" motorsport in Australia that allow drivers as young as 12 to compete. Two MINIs were entered: Lisa Bruce 01 MC Dave Elliott 02 MCS Both MINIs did very well, although my handbrake wasn't as effective as I would have liked. Cheers, Dave |

| Minis at Forrest Rally Hi, Firstly, apologies for not keeping this sticky up to date. Despite my intentions at the time I did not run my MCS in the State Motorkhanas or any motorsport event for that matter. I was kindly given a drive in another vehicle for the motorkhanas and home renovations put pay to other events. Anyhow, something else has come up that MINI drivers in WA might be interested in. The Forrest Rally which is West Australian’s round of the Australian Rally Championship is being held in Busselton and surrounding areas on April 3, 4 & 5. The organisers have kindly invited all WA Mini club to participate in the support program for the event. This will involve Minis running on the sealed super special stage on the Busselton foreshore: Friday evening (3rd April): Demo laps with groups of three Minis driving nose to tail to give an "Italian Job" slant. There will also be a parade laps with all Minis in attendance just prior to the rally cars running on the special stage. Entry to both these events is free. Post back or PM me for more details. Saturday (4th April): Minis are invited to enter a sprint to be held on the special stage circuit. $110 entry and a CAMS licence is required. Again, post back or PM me for more details. Currently there are a good number of classic Minis attending, but only one (my MCS) MINI. It would be great if more MINIs could participate. It should be a great weekend: Cruise to Busselton on Friday afternoon Chance to drive "briskly" around ARC special stage Be part of the parade lap View ARC special stage Option to view forest stages. | 2009 "Clubsport" events Hi, Thanks again to Duane for compiling another calendar that combines all the events open to road going cars. Speed events (sprints & hillclimbs) require the car to be fitted with a 1kg fire extinguisher and the driver will need to wear a helmet. A CAMS 2S licence is also required. All other events just require a road safe car and a CAMS 2NS licence. Cheers, Dave |

On March 7th there is a "Beginners Motorkhana" where a one-day licence is available making it a very affortable day out ($50 all up). Cheers, Dave |

| Hi there, The Mini Car Club have a Promomotional Motorkhana scheduled for Ocotor 24. These events are non-competitive which allows entrants to drive with a low-cost "come 'n' try" one-day licence and are designed to attract newcomers to the sport. The tests will be simple ones not requiring any special skills or reverse gear. It is enter on the day with the venue being at the back of the Tiger Kart Club in Neerabup (Wanneroo). Registration from 9am, event starts 10am. Competition suface is smooth bitumen. I'll be there in my MCS, it would be good to see others there too. Cheers, Dave Last edited by Dave Elliott; Oct 7th, 2010 at 01:07 AM. |

| This website (Motorkhana WA) has a link to download a booklet of tests. Only the easier tests will be used and there will be no reversing tests or the need to use the handbrake (if you don't want to). Some test layouts will be made bigger to make them a bit faster and easier to drive. Two test areas will be set up with drivers moving between the two areas. At least 8 different tests will run during the day so there'll be lots of action. The timing systems will be in place so you can compare your times to others. Unfortunately there will be no official results owing to the type of permit this particular event is run under but feel free to record yours and friends times for bragging rights!! The Supp Regs and Entry Form will be available shortly from the same website. Entries will be accepted on the day. Cheers, Dave |

| 2011 AHG Australian Motorkhana Championship Now only a matter of weeks away, time is running out to be part of the prestigious 2011 AHG Australian Motorkhana Championship. See attached flyer. Visit the Motorkhana WA website for more information. Those that may be a bit rusty with their handbrake turns may be interested in a free Come 'n' Try day on this Sunday (Sept 18). Spectators are welcome at either the Come 'n' Try Day or the Australian Motorkhana Championship. So come along and catch the Motorkhana bug. Cheers, Dave |
