Offline | I'm coming down to Melbourne for the F1 next Monday arvo- and hence I will get there a couple of hours before the MIMS ends.. Although there is no MINI stand, is there a MINI Chase or something of the sort? During the SIMS here, they accomodated for MINI fans by putting on a MINI Chase at the same time as the SIMS, as they had no MINI stand. 2 x JCWs ripped around a man made King St Wharf circuit, pure 100-40km/hr engine braking into 1st gear.. on the edge of your seat stuff.. literally! Anyone know.. is it happening in Melbourne too? |

Offline | Mini isn't there! Didn't ask BMW sales folk why not. Was doing a spot of car shopping with my wife. She is v small so there is a need for very adjustable drivers seat, preferably electric with memory so we can swop drivers in less then 10 minutes. She looked at the 3XX wagon, was told about $70k on road then the "oh you want seats and wheels with that" spiel starts and the end "on road" quote as a show special was over $100k! Why are they allowed to put a price tag on a vehicle that bears absolutely no relationship to the actual figure that gets you the keys? Audi A3 Sportback 3.2 V6 Quattro looking the go. May have to spend more on the S to keep up. Still -why no Mini? |

| This space aint long enou | I've not heard of it before, for the past two year Melbourne has had Russ Swift doing stunt driving in Pugs, but no MINI's, there is no mention of them at all!! You still looking at a cruise before the GP? I may, and I mean may(aka hope), get my car earlier next week and would love an excuse to clock up some k's, and show her off to the world of course! Not wrong with the X5, I've loved the current car since day1, and thought the first gen ML's looked pretty lame, but the two new cars reverse my thoughts. When it comes to mean looking 4WD's though, a supercharged RR sport can't be beaten. I did see the new Jeep SRT the other day, they do look mighty fine too. Call me cruel and twisted, but one of my joys at the motor show is the Ssangyong stand. I loved in prior years how they dont unlock the Chairman because it is the flagship of their fleet. Thats the superb car that has an iDrive styled knob in the centre console but it is actually the lid of the ashtray! By the end of the show last year the stunning Stavic had large visible dents on the bonnet from being pushed shut over the course of the show. The poor staff that man the stand are so demoralised, I think they'd prefer to sell secondhand tractors! |

Offline | Ssangyong?!? Say it isn't so... To me, to own a Ssangyong is a cardinal sin, But I guess the new stavic isn't so bad... But Mike, If you can get your car earlier, maybe you could open up a booth at the show.. You could even cash in on it, charge people for a joyride.. *hint hint |

| Keeping The Top Off! | Went on Sunday, it was great but no mini's..........heard from a dealer that they are not allowed to "SHOW" the new mini until 1st Apr for the international launch. However you can buy them now. Confused!? I am. I was very dissappointed to see no representation at all. Apparently they were going to have mini there but the M4 and M6 filled the space. I know what I would rather see! New X5 looked nice.......wouldn't want to take it off road though......not if I have just spent 100K+ on it! |

| This space aint long enou | Good thinking, naturally any cute young ladies would receive a generous discount for a ride, in fact I'd possibly be willing to pay them to come for a ride! As for the Ssangyongs, they aint so bad. Compared to riding a donkey they are actually quite nice. ![]() |

| This space aint long enou | LOL, nice one I see they have the new and improved cuckoo clock for sale. On these ones the lil MINI drives out of the clock sideways and does a lap around the outside face of the entire clock. Gotta get me one of them!! I'll probably be heading there on Sunday. Did Volvo have the C30 there? I love the look of them....Shhhh don't tell any one though. |

Offline | Yeh the Volvo was there. I don't wanna burst ur burble or anything Mike, I was looking forward to it as well but I was slightly disappointed, It's little sober looking compared to the pics and considering the fact of Brazililan Job.. Though something you guys should look out for is the new Peugeot 207... I love it!!! And You have to grab a seat in it's bucket... VERY NICE... muah!!! I think it even share the same engine as the R56.. but correct me if i'm wrong |
