Offline | Hello, your parts man may speak truth, ie yes the JCW sound kit is not for sale from BMW Au.....Why 2 reason come to mind. 1 BMW AU did not put it in to be approved due to they could not be bothered or 2 if they did it would failed ( hard to believe this one as Oz draws a lot of its standards from the EU, ie Oz is to small to start dictating global vehicle standards) But why do you want the kit? (not saying it is bad,) but depending on you needs/money there may be other ways to skin this cat. ![]() |

Offline | I would agree on your last point. I looked into the "sound kit" when it was first release and told the same thing as jksgoh. However, I believe you would get a simmilar if not better effect with something like a K&N typhoon and Miktech exhaust. Probably for less money. I also rememmber that the exhaust system on the standard cooper was very restrictive due to something that looked like a can of Pepsi(TM). I think most of the MINI aftermarket sites promoted on MINI2 have systems that will solve this and should give you a good power increase. p.s. I also rememmber seeing a cooper that did have a typhoon CAI, but because of the placement of the intake in the cooper it caused the sound insulation to melt under the bonnet. So be careful. </m2c> ![]() Powerful like a gorilla, yet soft and yielding like a Nerf ball. Now, at last, I have found it |

Offline | Just my 20c for what its worth, I changed the exhuast ($800), intake ($300), chipped ($800) + various other things to my old Cooper, and it was a worthwhile exercise. If not at least it no longer had the can exhaust tip. |
