New Mini Advertisement

has anyone seen the new print advertisement for the new mini?

the adventures of kiteman

OMG its the worst print advert ever, i don't know who designed it but its just terrible. i don't know who the target audience they are targeting but they won't be reaching anyone with this poor attempt.

it caught my attention like advertisement are meant to do but didn't keep it. the only reason why i read the adventures of kiteman was because i saw the mini in the corner. the story was so stupid (and not that so stupid that its funny or rememberable).

i've seen the tv adverts of the new mini in the uk and i have 2 say they were fantastic! they went with a concept and pulled it off very well.

honestly just having an advert with a picture of a mini would had been better!

Adventures of Kiteman?

With no picture that makes no sense. But by the sound of it, with pictures, it makes no sense.

I saw an Ad on the TV last night... and I thought to be honest it was a crap ad. So crap I can't even remember what it was about or looked like, just that there was a MINI ad on the TV and I remember saying to my GF after it was on how crap it was.

That mini add on tv is guff. Some crazed dude laughing his head off. Whats that all about?
On the other hand that john west add with the dude getting the fish when the bear is about to get it is great.
Cop that bear. He showed you good.

That's right... I didn't know the ad was for a MINI until just the end. I could just see a mini in the background.

That's our great authorities at work again. Stoopid advertising regulations. It's ludicrous.

I've not seen the ad on TV yet, but believe its the "genie" ad. LAME AS. Have a look at youtube, the other USA ads are fantastic. There's a sewer ad where two guys are driving about in an MCS in the underground tunnels, thinking they're all alone, they come to a red traffic light down there and about 20 other MINI's go racing past across the intersection. Clearly that incites people to drive irresponsibly though! There is another good ad where a couple are racing through a corn field, corn kernals are being sucked into the bonet scoop. The following scenes in the cabin show popcorn flying into the cabin from the air vents.

That "Hammer and Coop" stuff from the US though is gold. Without a doubt the greatest marketing campaign ever. The guys who created that deserve every cent they make. Fantastic stuff. I reckon that campaign could swing a Landcruiser buyer to purchasing a MINI instead. Eposide 5 is out now. 'hammerandcoop.com'

Can't wait to see a Coop copy on the road, would look amazing!

The Ads are all on MINI2 in my galleries, they seem to be using them here as well as the US etc. this time. Generally speaking we had or own ads, I guess they've cut that budget too.

Australia mini kiteman

I saw the MINI kiteman ad. I thought it was funny! Where's your sense of humour? Only weird thing is I can't find anything on the website about it. Look forward to the next one.

OMG how could u find that funny. its completely pathetic. i have a sense of humour but adventures of kiteman sucks. the story was completely stupid and i don't mean funny stupid like cartoons and i can't believe i wasted my time reading it.

i know a lot of businesses uses this type of format to reach their target audience and it usually works for them but this hasn't.

there is no concept behind it so the ad isn't gonna work. also i personally believe this ad will not be reaching their target audience and its not designed for them. i'm not sure if they are trying to reach a younger audience but it won't attract them!

they totally need to redo their IMC plan as the direction they are heading is downwards.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion or reaction to an advert...

You reacted to the advert, recognised what the product was and felt compelled to tell your online buddies all about it.... I guess the advert worked well for the brand then.

As for filming a clubMINI based execution, considering clubMINI currently represents <5% of the MINI owners, there has to be another way of attracting that group that are looking for something quirky and different in a car (wowee and maybe in an advertisement for a car...!?!)

I cant say I have seen this Kiteman advert, but I saw the one with the "crazy guy laughing" and I thought "Geez, I should get down for a test drive..."

For those who couldnt work it out, my understanding was that the genie made the bloke believe he was the one with the wishes and he wished to drive the MINI... hence why he was laughing hysterically from behind the wheel of the MINI.

I'm pretty sure I saw black and white posters glued to a wall like upcoming concert posters the other day advertising the new new MINI... from the brief glimpse I got it appeared to have a circus-ish vibe to the design.

Cheers!

todd i fully understand that. i love ads that other people think are sad and vice versa. the only reason why i've reacted to the ad so much as i thought there would be a better standard from mini. it was only because i saw the mini in the corner that i realise it was a mini advert that i took my time reading it but any potential target market wouldn't had noticed it, hence it not being an effective ad.

btw if anyone is interested a IMC Plan is an intergrated marketing communications plan. its like a marketing plan but more in depth e.g. target audience, promotional activities, evaluation of the promotional activities etc.
