Offline | Sydney MINI dealers New to the site & currently in the process of deciding what combination of spec to order for my first MINI. Apart from the spec choice dilema, I have not yet been able to find a MINI dealer in Sydney that is even remotely interested in helping me. Hoping you experts out there could please provide some advice on sales, and of course after sales service???? So far I seem to have been able to teach the delears a few things - maybe I have just caught them on bad days, but my experience so far has been disapointing. Have any of them even read their spec sheet? I am in Sydney's Inner West, any advice is appreciated.. Here is my thoughts so far on the spec, but that keeps changing, so any advice here is also welcome! Cooper S Cabrio Chilli Pack Chilli Red/Black Roof/Red & Black cloth/leather... OR Pepper White/Blue Roof/Blue & Black cloth/leather... OR Laser Blue/Blue Roof/Blue & Black cloth/leather ANYTHING but silver/grey!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() Chrome line interior Maybe chrome mirrors Rain sensing wipers - love a gadget! unsure on the dash colour Probably an aftermarket wide racing stripe in the centre, rather than just the standard bonnet stripes My mx-5 is ready for an update! Will be very sad to see it go, but extreemly excited to join the MINI world!. Cheers! |

Offline | Definitely go see Canterbury MINI. Ask for Erik Bellendir, he's the MINI manager there and has always been helpful, and definitely knows his Minis. As for your bonnet stripe, check out OziCozi up Manly way. He's done the custom stripes and graphics for a few of us here. Shoot me a pm if you want more info. ![]() |

Offline | Always nice to hear of someone just about to join the MINI community Nearly got myself an MX5 at one stage, but the MINI has never disappointed ![]() Give Canterbury MINI Garage a call and speak to Rich. Not only does he sell MINIs, he loves them and is a MINI nut I'm sure he'll organise a decent test drive for you too.Nice specs by the way Good luck! |

Offline | I bought my car from Trivett Classic in Parramatta. Awesome showroom, awesome customer service. If you have a look, ask for Chad Kemp, Sales Manager, and tell him Roland recommended you. They are really nice, it's nice just to have a look inside, as well as the continual offers of free coffee/cake! Good luck with your purchase! ![]() |

| Twincharge??? | Chad...catch him on a good day then he's fine, I've caught him out numerous times on his bad days. In fact if you start quizzing him a bit regarding the cars, it's quite obvious selling MINI is just a job to him. Yeah I agree with everyone else, the fellas at Canterbury MINI seems to be a bit more passionate about it and less obvious that they're only there for the moolah. |

| The Invisible Boy | Hahahaha Chad was the dude that gave me the free ' Lucky Beer ' t-shirt, he seemed cool. From past experiences i will avoid the Parra dealer as there sales & service are terrible, only reason why i went into the Parra dealer was to check out the R56. Canterbury is the way to go, David Bradford sorted me out last August when i brought my Cooper S & i was very pleased. Daniel ![]() 2004 DS/W Cooper S 2006 NRL Premiers - Brisbane Broncos ![]() |

Offline | Definately Canterbury - Richie is a champ! Sydney are ok too - there's a dude named Kevin Howrd who's quite helpful, and David Bradford is there now who knows stuff as well. Don't know about the others, but I know Canterbury is, as they say, 'the place to MINI'... btw, nice spec - I like the PW conv combo! ![]() ![]() long live the supercharger |

Offline | Yeh I haven't got a Mini yet, but I've done my fair share of Mini shopping.. and Canterbury seems like the best dealer around. As Avril said, Richie is a Mini NUT- in a good way, and he'll sort you out nice and quick with a decent test drive. Followed closely by Rushcutters Bay Mini- Kevin Howard is the man to meet there- the guy with the American accent (or maybe it's Candian??). Dave do you remember the test drive in the pepper white MCS around Rushcutters? haha.. |

Offline | The service Department at Trivetts is second to none. And believe me I've been to them all. Mark Manning is the best you'll find. No matter where you go, take your car out west if you want it serviced by someone who know s**t from shoe polish. I personally found Erik to be an arrogant ******. He came for a drive with me and talked on his mobile phone the whole way. I'd never buy a car from him. Ultimately, they're just car salesmen. They're not your friend. Just buy where you can negotiate the best deal, and lets all stop pretending these people are our buddies. ![]() I love Warsaw. Where else can you hug a pole? ![]() If you have any information, any information at all, please contact me as I'm writing an encyclopaedia. |

Offline | Thankyou all so much for the advice given here. I shall keep it all in mind and start my exciting shopping spree. I actually went to Canterbury and had a great test drive, but I got a BMW sales guy I think! Didn't really have much idea of the specs or the costs of options. Tried to quote about $1800 for metallic paint (must be the BMW cost!) and also tried to add mats to a Chilli pack as further extras. Rushcutters Bay, the gut was just not interested! Now that i have some definite names, though, I shall give them a second chance. I work in the Northern Beaches area, so I can easily look into OziCozi too. Thanks again all - getting excited... |

Offline | Firstly let me say, that i like your choices, i have electric blue but if i was buying again i would probably pick Laser blue as it is simply a standout colour, i am a metallic paint fan myself as i feel that metallics don't look as dirty as fast. Now u have obviously tried the rest now try the best. Call Worthington BMW at Kariong for a test drive and pricing on the mini u want, i promise u that u will not be disappointed. They have one of the best mini reps that i have come across as he has a real passion for the mini like all of us who own one or love one do. Lets just say he is mini crazy too, LOL. His name is Lucas and his number is 0243409988. He will give u fantastic service and the other thing which is great is the roads used for the test drive, the Old Pacific Hwy, or OPH for short. No short test drives, just one long windy road, he will let u give it a bit too, encourage it even. Just tell him Ann told u to ring and i will shout the next coffee at the PITS (pie in the sky) when u get your mini, if i am wrong. Lots of people have been leaving the Sydney area to buy as the service in most of the dealership are worse than crap. So go on, give him a call, u won't be disappointed. Cheers Ann ![]() |

Offline | Sorry we will have to agree to disagree on that point Matt, i have had a three year good relationship with my dealer Worthington and have made some firm friends there, u obviously have had a few bad experiences. I have had work done for free out of warranty and they have gone to bat on my behalf with mini australia for some issues i had. I would still be friends with the people i have met there even if i sold my mini and bought a VW, which by the way will not happen in my lifetime, yuk, bubble cars, errrrrr. I still get freebies and invites to all there parties, not just mini, so i would have to say that maybe i am exception to your thinking and that sure we have all had to deal with ******s car saleman, but i really believe that if u have a passion for what u r selling this comes across and if they r mini crazy like we ourselve r they will do a better job and u will get what u want much more pleasantly. Well thats my spiel, LOL. Ann ![]() ![]() |
