L/100km after service??

hi guys,
just had my clutch changed a couple of days ago, and have noticed my L/100kms was up.
just before i brought it in i was sitting at about 8.4l/100ks cause i was trying to be cheap and save on fuel. the day after i picked up my car i checked the fuel economy and it was up at 10.7L/100km.
now i havnt been driving hard since i got my car back, so has someone at the dealer taken my car for a spin? they said they "test drove the new clutch" but i cant imagine that bringing it up to 10.7 especially when they told me to take it easy on the new clutch.
so has something dodgy happened???
i didnt take note of how many ks before i brought it in, so that wont help. Also does anyone know how many k's till the next major service after the "inspection II" or what ever its called???

When they change the clutch, they have to disconnect the battery so your average fuel consumption figure will have been reset - I take it that's what your referring to, not the instantaneous figure?? Even though they tell you to take it easy, I reckon they would have driven it moderately hard during the test run to check to make sure it was all working properly and it wasn't slipping etc. This would be pretty standard. Give it time and I'm sure your consumption will settle down again.

Yep, I agree with the above the battery would of been disconnected resetting the fuel figures.

It was acceptable in the 80's
