Hey Mark,

I had looked down this avenue as well - I talked to a suspension shop in Canberra that are official TEIN suppliers, and they mentioned that the Australian suppliers get the company in Japan to alter the supplied springs to a more suitable softer spring than what is supplied for the same car in Japan.
Their explanation was that the quality of road in Japan is alot better so a firmer spring is easier to live with than where the roads are poop.
At the time of asking they did not have a listing for any Mini applications - this may have changed now.
Having seen some of the other coil-over kits for Mini's available in Japan - the springs do look very unforgiving, I tend to believe this guys explanation.
Having said that - be wary of sourcing your kit from outside Aus if you were planning to. It would not be the end of the world - as you can easily get another set of softer rated springs. It's just that it would be an additional cost to an already costly upgrade.

If you are keen to go ahead with it - cool! Show us the pics and give us a write up once it's done.

Cheers.

I believe Fulcrum in Brisbane is the official distributor for Tein in Aust, give them a call and see what they can do re spring and damping rates.
