Decent brake pads in Aus ?

After some mountain runs my brake pedal felt spongy so i assumed the flued had boiled and maybe air had gotten into them, i have bled the breaks, refilled etc, there is an improvement but still doesnt seem to bite like they used to so im thinking time for new pads ? i have the standard standard brakes atm

Cheers

Try Competition Friction in Melbourne - I know they have the 2500s for the standard MINI caliper.

I think the standard MINI calipers are the same as the 3-series ones - can anyone confirm this? If this is the case it may be easier to find them locally if you refer to the BMW 3-- model instead of the MINI.

Comp Friction are awesome - I dealt with the brach near Canberra. Nothing but good things to say. I love my Ferado's and would definately recommend them to you.

Not sure if that's the case with the DS2500 but my DS Performance (a relatively new line...a tad lower than the 2500) requires a fair whack of heat before they work well even though it's a street oriented pad.

Try V-Sport here in Sydney, V-Sport Australia highly recommended or Barrie Smith Motorsports http://www.bsmsports.com.au/..

FYI, it's about 10% cheaper to bring them in from overseas when you factor in postage and the possibility of GST.

Must admit that I have had no problem with my standard JCW pads....and I do motorsport regularly. I have braided lines and use DOT 5.1 fluid. So far I have never had any concerns that the brakes wern't going to work or were fading at all......REDJCW

My new pads arrived this arvo, cant get them fitted till wednesday though.

The standard pads are fine, its was quite scary when your flying over a mountain, come to a hairpin and the breaks dont work till lock because theyve heated up.

will give an opinion on performance over stock next week

You should fit them yourself, its not that hard. If you need a hand let me know I might be able to help.

Costs around $180 a set for front pair, and about the same for the rears, the rotars are usually alot more durable than the pads, but if they do need replacing i think there around 280 a pair for the front/back ?
