| Nil Time et Facte Recte | Greetings all; I am the proud owner of a Mini S Cabrio..I picked it up last Friday, and have proceeded to rack up over 800 km in the last couple of days ![]() What a car! Talk about a face ache inducing grin all the time! I have learnt a lot by lurking on this forum, and hope to contribute more when I have something more intelligent to say...probably when I calm down enough to think rationally ![]() Here are a couple of pictures Cheers Tony |

| Nil Time et Facte Recte | Thanks for the warm welcome, guys..it is much appreciated ![]() You are right about the smile muscles...even commuting to work today was fun! Normally, I either ride my Vespa or use my motorbike...but I can see the Mini is going to be put to a great deal of use over the next few years! I am lucky enough to be heading down to Warrnambool in SW Victoria to work a couple of days this week...I reckon that a return via the Great Ocean Road is definitely in order ![]() Cheers Tony |

| Nil Time et Facte Recte | Greetings, all. OK, I had to do some work down in Warrnambool over the last week, so instead of taking the motorcycle as I usually do, one had to take the new Mini! The trip down was nothing special, though I was most agreeably impressed by the ability of the car to just cruise down the boring old Princes Hwy. Although a convertible, it was pretty quiet...much more so than my previous convertible, an MGB ! ![]() OK, so yesterday, I returned by the Great Ocean Road, and wow, what an AWESOME car! Although the rain and fog curbed ones' natural enthusiasm a bit...(not too much, ) - I had a wonderful time. The car just handled so well - soaking up the bumps, yet being able to point so accurately in turns...and as for the engine...I did a fair amount of overtaking (and no one overtook me LOL) - the way it builds up power between 80 to 1XX km/h is intoxicating, as well as the growl of the supercharger as it tells you that it is working. Also, although the weather meant that I could not get the roof down fully, in between rain storms I had the sunroof part open, which worked very well - being able to listen to the popping of the exhaust on the overrun. To top it all off, I discovered that the Radio Boost plays mp3 CD's, so I was one extraordinarily happy camper. The beast is really my dream car! OK, time to calm down, methinks....but I just cannot stop smiling. PS - no heated seats...but the heater works gratifyingly well. PPS - forgive my ignorance, please...what is club MINI? Cheers Tony |
