| This space aint long enou | I leave on the 15th Sept, i've no details of the when and where's yet. I'll post'em up as soon as i get'em. A meet up and cruise with some fellow MINI2ers in Oxford would be brilliant! ![]() Who knows, they may have a Clubman for me to evaluate...???Then again, maybe not. |

Offline | Say g'day to Harpo for the minigolfs. ![]() We also briefly met Goonery and a couple of others, their names escape me mind they were pretty tanked and I doubt they'd remember us either. ![]() Actually, if you go to the Avis Prestige website you can hire a Cooper S from memory. ![]() ![]() |

| This space aint long enou | Well, i'm back from the UK and the factory tour. It was fantastic. I was given a new Cooper to drive, a Sparkling Silver with the new start/stop function. The start/stop function works very well, its a little surprising at first but you quickly get used to it. Plus it's on/off button fills the blank between the Sport and DSC/ASC button. I missed the extra oomph from my "S" though. You sure use the gears a lot more in a Cooper to get some speed up. The private factory tour was superb. John the guide gave my Dad and i a fantastic tour of the plant for damn near four hours. I was like Charlie from the old Willy Wonka movie in there! Apparently we were the first ever members of the public to do the tour with the Clubman in production. The Clubman's (or should that be Clubmen?) look very good in the flesh, especially in the 'Hot Chocolate' colour with a silver roof. Looking down the line and seeing all the different varities was spectalular. You really appreciate how many different combinations are available. John the tour guide was great, happy to spend as much time with us as we wanted and was very informative and passionate about the MINI's and the factory itself. I even got to a peek at the 1 millionth MINI that they have on display. I would recommend the tour to anyone who has the chance to get there, it is fascinating. |
