Offline | Re: did someone say great ocean road? dnb, I love that car. Black/White was my second choice. Great shot by the way. Do you have any more? It's a shame that you weren't there on Sunday, but at least you were giving the Cooper a jolly good thrashing. Sunday was pretty quiet as we mainly chatted to try to get to know one another. Spazz, CoopeR and myself went for a drive along Lygon St. Red, blue and yellow - it wasn't till Monday I realised the significance of three MINIs driving through the Italian part of Melbourne. The Italian Job all over again!! If you don't mind would you pass on via a PM your mobile number so that I can SMS you from time to time. Checking this forum daily for updates on meetings should not be necessary. I plan to SMS the Victorian people when things are happening. Thanks heaps for posting. Hope to see you soon on Burwood Highway. Regards, ElTel |

Offline | Re: Re: Re: did someone say great ocean road? Thanks for posting Tim. I pulled into Mobil to fill up, same as last time we met, didn't bother to get out of the car, 'cos it was cats & dogs. The Black/White looks a million dollars. So don't be jealous of us too much, just think of the people who are jealous of you driving such a good looking car. I've PM'd you as well. I'm just itching to get out there with fellow mini owners, and show off the cars a bit, well ok, show them off a lot!! ![]() so now that the weathers getting better (fingers crossed), i really think we should do something about this! and one other thing, how many mini2'ers are members of the VMCI, just out of interest? I'm joining the Vic mini club this thursday, at their monthly meeting, so might meet a few of you there if ur members and attend the meetings. anyways, theres work to be done!! tim. dNb dNb |

Offline | Re: next mini meet? I went to a TT drive to Marysville yesterday. 21 TT's (and one Cooper S) in total!!! I really want to get that happening for us as well . The TT guys have managed to get Audi Australia involved. I will organise something for Mid November. How does that sound? BTW, I scared a few of the TT's with the MINI's ability. Most of them couldn't believe that the Cooper S could keep up with the TT Quattro (165kw!!!) at black spur. I reckon I could have been faster if I was in front, and also I only have crappy 195 Dunlop SP 3000. Can't wait to whack a set of 215 grippy tyres on. |

Offline | Re: Re: next mini meet? Way, my son saw you yesterday. He was driving my 77 LX Torana on a Torana cruise and he said he saw you. Small world. (MINI world actually. )I think that mid-November would be just right. Some more people will have their cars by then, so the numbers will be bigger. So if any of us are thinking of going for a drive round about that time, then tell us where you are planning to go and we'll all go together. ![]() Those of you who are expecting cars around then please keep us informed of your expected delivery dates so that we can book a drive date as far in advance as possible, so that people don't get double booked and can adjust their rosters. Also if anyone wants to go on an early (6am start) Sunday morning run around the back of the Dandenongs let me know. I've had a lot of fun on those roads when they're empty. Regards, ElTel (Tez) |

Offline | Re: Re: Re: next mini meet? Man, I get spotted everywhere by everyone's sons, dads, gf's etc. I think I saw him too. It was an orange one? He was wearing a shirt with a holden logo right? I was actually admiring the looks of that thing. Looks so mean. It got me thinking that if I keep the car forever it would be a classic just like your Torana. ![]() With regards to Dandenong runs, I am keen. I always do my Mountain Hwy run at midnight or after (I call them "midnight runs"), but I think mornings would actually be better. Was there on Sat afternoon with another friend and I realised how much better it is to drive in day light there. You can actually see the corners!!! ![]() Last edited by WAY : Sep 23rd, 2002 at 01:24 AM. |

Offline | Re: Re: RSD 029 where/who are you WAY, I work up the top end of Queen St. I start about 7 and leave about 4. I do this to avoid peak hour traffic. It works in the mornings, but if I leave at 4 by the time I hit Springvale Rd it's starting to build through Nunawading and Burwood Hwy. Get home by 5 most nights. My staff now work those hours as well, so it works out well. So sounds like you're tucked away in one of these glass towers as well? REgards, ElTel |

Offline | It is amazing how many people are starting to do that now. I start work at 7am too and work until 4ish. I do it because I need to be here this early but I wouldnt change it at all, especially when I have around an hour on the train to go still ! I need at least some light to drive my car .. We have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, its dark and we're wearing sun glasses. Hit it! |

Offline | That's right Matt. Daylight Saving is not far away, and then summer. Yeeeessssss! Watch out Torquay, Lorne, Apollo Bay and all places in between. Not to mention day trips to Healesville, Marysville, the Yarra Glen wineries and Warburton areas. ![]() Then there's weekends in the Grampians, Gippsland, Bright. Lots of excellent drives coming up. ![]() My car also wants to go on the new Spirit of Tasmania to the Apple Isle for a week. It does not want to stay at home for the summer. It wants to get out and about. Hope lots of other MINI owners have cars that feel the same way. ![]() Regards, ElTel |
