Buying mini stuff off ebay

I have crappy wheels on my mini and was thinking of checking out these ones for sale on ebay, 2nd hand..
Says that they are "crown spoke style" 17".

17" Mini Cooper Alloy Wheels Crown Spoke Style BMW - eBay Wheels, Wheels, Tyres, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 27-Apr-08 19:00:00 AEST)

Not sure if that's how I post a link on this board but hopefully it'll work.
Just a few questions..
Can I put any tyres on these rims including non-run fat ones?
Will the size of the wheel effect my speedo or anything link that?
Cheers.

You can put non-runflats on these rims without any problems. They won't have any effect on your speedo as long as you put the correct sized tyres on. You can find the correct tyre size on the tyre placard or in the manual.

It would be worth having a close look at the damage to the rims as it can be expensive to repair. If the damage is extensive you might be better off waiting and paying more for a set in better condition.

these rims are the S-Spokes, the same as whats on my Mini. I currently have 215x45R17 Michelin Preceders on them. The previous tyres were 205x40R17 Dunlops. Both types are redials and work excellent, both on the road and track.
I check my speed with the GPS and find the speedo only a couple of k's out
