Just want to know what lap time can a stock R53 cooper s do around winton? I went november last year for my first time and got 1:50 (on a very hot day). Im going again soon next month and want to try get into the 48s. The only mods i have is a front strut bar, ferodo pads and dunlop sp sport maxx tyres.

Do a search in the Racing forum, I think you'll find some Winton times in there.

Hi,

I did 1:46 with a stock mini cooper S.

I did 1:43 with a modified mini, which was pretty much JCW engine spec and extensive suspension work., type R dunlop tyres

Harry and Scott from Victoria are doing 1:41's with similar mods.

Paul Stokell did 1:39 in a factory mini

wow 1:46 stock is quick as! was that with stock brakes and tyres? I just came down from my 2nd time at Winton and managed to get 1:49 with passenger. Was trying to aim for 1:48 next session but i hit a ripple strip and my rear wheel got damaged! also at the same time another car was on fire! lol so we finished the day early.

1:39 in a bone stock mini??? thats absolutely crazy!! some of the stripped out mtisubishi evos that day were doing 1:37-38. but yeh i looked it up and it said that those minis that day had roll cages, semis, big brakes. but still 1:39 is damn fast!
