Spare 17in S-spoke wheel anyone?

At my last session at winton my wheel buckled a little on one of the ripple strips! just wondering if anyone would like to sell me a s spoke rim? I know its unlikely that someone would have just one s-spoke rim but i dont wanna spend like $400-500 on a brand new one from the dealer!

Thanks =]

I have one, sitting in the shed,

i don't know what you class as buckled, but the spare one I have has a small dent in the body of the rim

Anyway, if it is something that you think you can deal with, I can take a photo of the rim/dent and you can decide if it is useful.

However, I would fear that postage might be more than the rim is worth.

Let me know if you want me to dig it out for some photos.

Josh

Greetings:

Have you thought about getting the rim re rolled and the buckle taken out? I managed to get 2 of my S Spokes buckled on a huge pothole, and I had them re rolled and and "trued" again. Bit cheaper than getting 2 new wheels!

Cheers,

Tony

Im going to get it checked out this week by an alloy wheel repairer. Its hard to say for myself how bad it is. Hopefully it is repairable and will be safe to drive on. Otherwise ill need another one! Is it safe to get it repaired? will the wheel be just as strong as it was b4 or will there will a weak spot where it was hit?

Hi there,

the wheel was unrepairable in the end as it was TOO buckled, so i am interested in your spare one. Is ur wheel is still okay to drive on? Is the dent like one of those things that can be easily fixed? or is it buckled so that its completely not safe to drive on. I sent u a pm with my email so if u could please send some photos of the rim and dent =]

Thanks!
