Shell V Power Racing

I have just had an email from Shell saying that Shell will no longer be supplying V Power Racing to the Australian Market!

Quote:
On behalf of Shell Australia I am writing to inform you and your club members that from the end of July 2008, Shell will be phasing out Shell V-Power Racing fuel from the Australian market.
The phase out of Shell V-Power Racing from 46 Coles Express sites in QLD, VIC, NSW & ACT will take approximately six months.
A changing market has been the major contributor to Shell's decision to phase out the fuel.
Moving forward, Shell V-Power will be Shell's premium performance fuel. Shell V-Power will continue to be available at the Coles Express sites in QLD, VIC, SA, NSW & ACT.
At 98 octane, Shell V-Power contains a unique Friction Modification Technology (FMT) and an exclusive cleaning formula designed to enhance everyday driving performance and responsiveness.
Shell Australia will continue to respond to consumer demand to maintain a quality fuels portfolio, and supply a range of quality fuels available for Australian motorists who understand that not all fuels are the same.
For further information or any technical assistance about the removal of Shell V-Power Racing, please visit Shell Australia Web Site or call our Customer Service Centre on 13 16 18.

I'd used it a few times, and it was OK, but hardly anywhere had it.

I haven't used Shell V-Power Racing, instead I am happy with BP 98.

Ditto. Have never seen V-Power at a shell station either.

Thanks....I have been told that Liberty sell '100 Max' fuel if anyone wants 100 octane...not tried it myself though.

I know they have MAX98 which is a 98 octane E10 petrol. I am not sure why but I just can't get myself to use petrol with ethanol...

My R56 loves this stuff. I've had no problems at all running it and can quite literally *feel* the difference it makes when running back to back tanks of 100VPR then 98VP.

It'll be a shame to see it disappear.

Yeah, I agree, our R56 burbled, cracked, & popped like crazy after just one tank, going to get Alice's most likely last tank tomorrow as Brisbane's last station is supposed to stop serving it on the 1st of August.
