Top Gear Live - anyone going?

I got the details in the latest edition of TG Australia magazine, along with a subcriber pre-purchase offer.
All up it will cost me around $1000 for me and my son including travel and food, which I reckon is a bit steep for a 75 minute show.

Has anyone on here booked tickets yet, or likely to?

I really want to go, but I'm also trying to work out if its worth it.

Apparantly its not just a 75min show. There will be other things to do.

The Ticketek website states the following:
"Ticket price includes access to the 'Top Gear Live' main arena show and 'Prestige and Performance Gallery and Motoring Showroom' area only."

So, I'm guessing that the 'Prestige and Performance Gallery and Motoring Showroom' will be some sort of a mini motor show of expensive exotic cars ?!?!

Also, I was thinking about maybe driving up (but not sure yet).

Is anyone else interested in driving up?
Maybe we can make a clubMINI (VIC) drive out of it if we get enough people ??

Would definitely love to go. Was reading up on this the other day too. It'll be far too expensive however from over here!

It'll always get better I think. I didn't expect last nights' show to be all that good as I was expecting an entire Holden vs. Ford episode - so it wasn't too bad afterall.

They have big shoes to fill as it'll NEVER get as funny as the UK one. But at least they're giving it a good shot.

The old blondish hair coloured guy is a total w anker.....he's about as funny as Mr Bubbles teaching kindergarten and shouldn't be on it.
The other ones are not quite as bad. They would have been better to do a new local style, rather than attempt to impersonate the brits with ugly middle aged men trying to be young again...but without the wit of the british version.

Charlie Cox was a pretty reasonable driver at Bathurst 10 years ago. He seems to be trying too hard though and losing the natural presentation style.

I'll be going to the 5pm (IIRC) session on Saturday 7 February.
