Servicing Costs

Hey All,

I have an automatic 2006 Cooper S Checkmate with 18,000kms on the clock.

We bought the car about 2 months ago and are really enjoying it. I should say my wife is really enjoying it, as I am told to "drive my own car!" (R36 Passat so not complaining).

Anyway the car is saying 13,000 kms till next service.

Took it to Mini Garage to ensure all was as it should be. Key showed last service as per the book, and next service due in 13,000 kms or December 2009.

Does anyone know what type of service it will need then? I guess I dont want to be ripped off given the low kms, and at the same time I want to ensure the car is maintained correctly by not skimping on required maintenance.

Part of the reason we bought the car is that my wife does about 5,000 kms per annum, and the servicing intervals are much longer, rather than the fixed period servicing, as she never hits the required kms (and never will).

As a useful aside, we insured the car with pay as you drive insurance. Due to the low kms, the insurance was hundreds of dollars lower than the next best quote (30yo female driver, full NCB, Inner West Suburb of Sydney, commuting and private use, 7500 kms estimated per year to be safe)

Any advice would be greatfully accepted.

I think it should be an inspection 1....look in your service booklet.
