Genuine Accessory prices

I just rang my Mini dealer for some prices and got a nasty shock.

Crownspoke 17" wheels (no tyres) $2100
JCW springs fitted $4623

was relieved when they quoted me $50 each for clear side repeaters.

Have you tried ringing around some dealers or aftermarket specialists?

Or try your local clubMINI someone may be looking to get rid of theirs!

Just expected each dealer would quote off the same price list. Do we have mini aftermarket specialists in Aus? sorry, I've only had the car for a couple of weeks... I'll be joining up to clubMINI shortly so will certainly look into the option there.

Hipsi, welcome!

BTW, no harm asking for a discount and I found sometimes you get lucky. Good luck.

Yes agreed, yes they do all charge off the price list but there is always room for maneouver....there are specialists such as BM TEch and BM Autowerks in Mel, dunno about QLD, but I am sure there are....they can normally get a discount of the dealers for you! You never know!

Do they need to be OEM? I know someone that got some very nice GP replicas......very nice!

don't need to be OEM. Just thought that'd be a good place to start, in hindsight however......

Wow you quote was cheap, i got quoted $4891 for the JCW Springs supplied and fitted.

I will have a set of 17" Crowns available when i get around to getting a new set of wheels for mine.

Hi Hipsi,

Join ClubMINI and come along on a run - we have one happening next Sunday.

Benefit#1 = 10% discount on parts through MINI Garages.
Benefit#2 = you aint Robinson Cruiso here. We all thought the same thing when we first got our MINIs and realised that we couldn't afford to mod our cars with dealer supplied accessories. ClubMINI folk can tell you where to get whatever you need and you can check out everyone else's cars to see what suits your taste and budget.

Hopefully see you next Suday

Gregg

The dealer told me if i was to put aftermartket suspension on mine, i would void all warranty with the suspension and ALL related parts.

Sandown is one of my favourite circuits

Gregg, will definately see you there, just hanging out to hear where/when. clubMINI membership is certainly on my task list.
