my light comes on and off all the time no biggy, just pop it into a dealer when you get a spare day so they can plug it into their code ready, is it still in warranty ?

I had this light on my car and it was just a faulty sensor. If it doesnt go red I wouldnt worry about it too much

I have had the Emissions light on for months now. First had this problem about a year ago and found that I had a small crack in my exhaust (aftermarket). Once this was fixed the light cleared a couple of days later. The light then came back about 6 months later and has been on for the last 3 months. No problems with the exhaust this time so I'm guessing it might be a faulty sensor. Will get it checked when I take my car in next time, but it is really nothing to be concerned about IMHO.

Be interested to know what the cause of yours ends up being.

my aftermarket 200 cpsi hiflow cat and extractors have been in for a week now and the light hasnt come back, must of been carbon build up on the sensors.

Yeah, you gotta check how they put them in as well. When I saw mine they had wound it in without unplugging it so it looked like a bit of twisted rope. This is not good for the connections. Without knowing what the Trouble code is it is a bit hard to know. If I was back in Brisbane I'd be able to read your code and tell you what the problem is in about 10sec!! If you want to wait till I get back I can do it for you.

Am I missing something?

I only have 2 x diagnostic lights: airbag and computer. So if there is a fault with ANY of the car's systems (other than the SRS system) I get one light that comes on.

How do you know it's an emissions fault without reading the codes from the ODBCII port?

I've got an R56 - I assumed we were all talking R56s when I read about the "Emissions light". It says "increased emissions" on the satnav screen whenever I start the car.

Wow that's a significant shift for the R56! Gone are the days of some black box giving us a single light saying that "something" isn't "100%" - and leave your wallet at the dealership - to providing some meaningful information!

I'd support that. It's only through the work of Mini2 people that I've found out what the codes mean, and the instructions to pull up the codes on the odometer display (although I've got my own scan tool as well).
