My MINI Adventures have come to an end - Thankyou and Goodbye
Hi All,
Like many people before me, I have unfortunately succumbed to MINI ownership. For those who know what happened, insurance decided this afternoon that the MINI will not live on. I haven't taken the opportunity to thank the ones who helped me on the day, so to those people, I sincerely thank you.
As they always say, a car can be replaced. What cannot be replaced however, is the fun and excitement of almost 4 years of MINI ownership. It was through these forums more than 5 years ago that I first caught the MINI virus; caught it so bad that I upgraded my Cooper to a S in 2007. Along the way, I have met one of the most passionate group of people ever; the best MINI salesmen by far in this country and experienced the best scenery Australia has to offer. No matter how much I love MINI however, I've decided that I should move on. I think it's the wiser choice for me. (unless convinced otherwise ).
So to the clubMINI members who organise and take part in runs and show'n'shine days in QLD, the friendly folk from clubMINI VIC that have recently welcomed me; those NSW clubMINI members I met whilst at MINI Chase in Sydney; Motorline and Brisbane MINI Garage for their friendly hospitality at various events over the years, and the people on these forums; thank you. The experience has been made so much better by all of you; I'm privileged to have been apart of it and I've enjoyed every single moment.
Whilst I will no longer be a MINI owner, I will still have a poke in here from time to time and see what you guys are up to.
Best of luck with the future. It was good to have you on the runs, and trying to keep up with you too. If your ever in the area I usually have a spare front seat if you want to relive the good ol' days in the Club.

Man I feel for you... I heard about the news a few weekends back and I'm just glad you are ok. Couldn't text/msg you as I don't have your contact details.
A car is a car and can be replaced - you're right. But the MINI is not only a car, but a whole lifestyle in itself... I think you've captured that feeling very well.
Sincerely sorry to hear about the loss... But I guess you must be excited about the replacement!
I know the feeling. Mine's up for sale and if it sells at a decent price I can move to an M3 for about the same money. Been looking hard at alternatives, but very little stacks up against the handling of the Mini (I've got an accellerometer and I get similar figures to the Lotus Esprit V8 that Top Gear tested 5 or so years ago).
Anyway, I'm sure you can still tag on the end of a Mini convoy and no one would mind.
That's an awesome mini for sale right there! I'll pass that around, if you don't get some new happy owner for that at that price there's something deeply wrong.
