Stunt Driving Mini Jump Pics

We did our first few test jumps yesterday at Sandown, I can tell you that they jump very well ! We were expecting the cars to bottom out on the take off ramp, (in fact we had been looking at getting our own front springs wound to raise the front of the cars slightly), the mini's jump and land better than any of our current cars..

The cars are now being fitted with dual digital speedo's and speed limiters, then hydraulic handbrakes and off to the sign writers, and they'll be ready for work. We expect to have at least two mini's working on our next stunt day in late June...

Haha wicked . Watched a thing on tv ages ago with minis spining around and parking and stuff like that, id love to able to do that.
Do have any videos and pictures with your other cars i would intrested seeing a few.

Id suggest to get some strut tower plates to stop the front towers from mushrooming.

I believe m7 and Craven Speed both sell them. They are called strut tower defenders, or strut tower reinforcement plates. I don't have any so I am not sure about the pros and cons on each. Hope this helps.

Found these on Way Motor Works, they are the m7 ones and anodized different colours for the bling-bling factor.

Any update on the Mini stunt jumpers? It is hard to believe those little ramps hold up to all that force. Very cool.

Latest Update..

All three cars have had twin digital speedo's fitted (one on the drivers side, one on the passenger side). The cars have also been fitted with a special electronic speed limiting device that's switchable from the dash, this device means that the cars will jump at the perfect speed, all the driver has to do is hold the gas pedal flat to the floor when jumping.
We've also fitted grill mounted driving lights to the cars as well.

The dark Blue Cooper has been working on courses for the last couple of weeks, we have fitted it with a hydraulic handbrake and completely disconnnected the ABS system.

The Red Cooper has had some teething problems with the electronic disconnect of the ABS, this car's job is 360 degree spins on our split surface.
We planned on just having an ABS on-off switch but we cant get it to work without losing the speedo. This car is switching to mechanical ABS disconnect today.

The Electric Blue Cooper is our third jumps car, it will also be used as a spare car should we have a mechanical issue with the other cars.

We're still looking to buy a white automatic cooper...

All three cars are making their official debut this weekend in Sydney.
They are being driven up from Melbourne on Saturday morning, should look very cool wizzing up the Hume highway in convoy.........

Ok, ok, you probably already sorted this one, but yes in the R50 Minis there are a half dozen places you can try to disable the ABS unit. In my (mis)adventures I have found that all but one of those will cause the car to go into limp home mode, run like a PIG, and yes the speedo drops out.

I always pull the ABS fusable link in the fuse box under the bonnet (next to the battery box). That works a treat in motorkhanas (kills ABS, traction control, EBD and stability control). Would be trivial to add an in line 40A switch in line with that fuse.

Just don't worry about the 3 warning lights you'll get on the dash

(PS - for those that have ever tried doing a hand brake turn with ASC on, you pull the hand brake, the computer thinks rear wheels stopped = car stopped, but front wheels spinning=wheel spin therefore engage traction control )

Thats why I got the lil switch next to the window control. But I noticed that at the skid pan day I did. When I hit the handbrake the back end was not keen on stepping out at all. Flicking the switch made life more fun.
