Offline | Sydney get together. Bad news for flip side. I'll be coming up the Pacific Highway from Lindfield. I assume you'll (S4matt) be coming from Penrith and from some of NHODGES photographs, the lower North Shore. We could convoy it up there from Wahroonga. |

Offline | yeah nice one Wes - that pic is in Sylvania duh! ![]() I'm up for both meets at this stage - sorry I haven't read the forums for a few days! I'm coming from Baulkham Hills so it's not so far for me. I can tell you one thing though, there's no way I'm taking the F3 to brooklyn exit if we're going to Pie in the Sky! Take the berowra exit and hang a right onto the old highway - much more fun ![]() Matthew, I'll try and phone you sometime soon! Wes, stop being a girl and bring the clubman or something. you could even ride in my car! I'll pick you up from where ever... ![]() Tim ![]() |

Offline | good stuff! Which way will you head up there? We should meet on the way - I have s4matt's number at home, so I'll phone him tomorrow and try and arrange a point someplace on the way for all of us. Thornleigh McDonalds for a 9:30am departure would get us to Pie in the Sky by 10am! Thoughts? ![]() |

Offline | if you weren't such a tightass and got nav, then suzy could tell you the way to get there Actually McDonalds restaurants aren't listed on the CD, which in my opinion is a good thing ![]() It's on pennant hills road, on the left as you head north. When you get to the intersection for the Comenara Parkway, turn left and enter the McDonalds from the back street. If you miss that, and go past the McDonalds, take the next left after it, and then left again and then left into the driveway. Not too hard to find. It's just past (North of) Patricks night club and Barry Smith Holden and Alto Toyota/BMW. ![]() |

Offline | confirmed! YES! If anyone wants my phone number for directions on the day or whatever, PM me. I'll have a few hand held UHF CB's as well - they are very very handy on such occasions Do bring one if you can get your hands on one ![]() If anyone wants to join the convoy between Thronleigh and Pie in the Sky (if Thornleigh is out of the way), the route I'm planning on taking from Thornleigh is up Pennant Hills Rd to the F3, then take the Berowra exit off the F3, hang a right onto the old road, and follow it up to the Pie shop, so make yourself visible somewhere along those sections and you can join in the fun ![]() Cheers, Tim |

| MINI2 Regular | Images here: Sydney MINI Cooper S Meet 10-Nov-02 5 x MINI Cooper S's meet at Pie-in-the-Sky. A few Audi's popped along, too. Drove to Wiseman's Ferry via Galston Gorge. I am going to leave the stories to others! Big surprise on the day was the arrival of 6 original MINIs on a jaunt. One sporting "No BMW Parts Inside". An interesting statement, but we got along nonetheless. |

Offline | did someone say "stories"? ![]() Well s4matt and I were heading south up the hill climb from the Mooney Mooney Bridge up to the pie shop (it's a superb twisty hillclimb - best part of the old road in my opinion) and Matt was ahead but in the left lane, and I was in the right. We rounded a left hander which went up fairly steeply and then went into a right turn. Unfortunately, in the left lane there was a tow truck, some other cars and bikes, and a highway patrol car, with a whole bunch of people (including a policeman) standing around. It looked like there had been a bike accident or something. The speed limit was 60, and we were perhaps travelling at a speed that was slightly more enjoyable than that (my DSC was going off all the way around the previous corner ) so Matthew brakes, and moves into the right lane to avoid the cars/trucks/bikes/police officer, and I tried to accelerate around him, which meant that I basically got pushed onto the wrong side of the road. The police officer saw the whole thing and started waving his arms and yelling at us to stop being silly... I was waiting for him to jump in his car and give chase, but fortunately he didn't. I'm glad we parked out of view at the rear of the pie shop though, as said police officer turned up there 15 minutes later, and I'm sure he would have taken the oppurtunity to lecture us had he known the cars we were driving ![]() The run through Galston Gorge was fun, but that road always worries me when there's a bit of traffic... and the piece of video where we moved into the "slow lane" on the freeway, and after a while the speed alert chime can be heard going off, just before Suzy says "exit in six kilometres" and I change into sixth gear. I'm not going to disclose what my speed alert is set at, but you get the idea... It was fantastic to have met everyone today, and hopefully we can get together even more MINI's for next time (24th November?) It was also really cool to be driving in a convoy of 5 S's on the highway back toward Hornsby, the cars all looked superb! I have a whole bunch of images too, though they aren't much different to Nick's, so I'll pick out the different ones and get them up soon. Tim oh, and to top off a great day, I just sold (well, gave away) my Audi A3! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
