Offline | Sounds good... Suggest meeting at the car park at the Point Sublime Lookout just off the freeway just before the turnoff for Bulli at about 10.30 Sunday. Does everyone know the way to here? We can then head to Robertson via Macquarie Pass for a pie lunch... and potential photo call at the legendary Big Potato in Robertson village Hope this is OK for everybody ![]() Cooper S, Jet Black w/ white roof, silver 16" X-Lite wheels, DSC, MFSW, dark tinted windows ...It's here & I love it! |

Offline | Clarus: yes, it's Sunday the 24th Rich: if we go through the national park coming down, we don't go past that place! Is everyone keen to go thru the royal national park? It's a nice drive, but to be in wollingong by 10:30, going that way, we'd have to kick off pretty early... Otherwise if we just cruise down the F3, it would be a little quicker, but slightly more boring. Either way doesn't bother me. Opinions please! Can't wait to see the big potato! Wes: got your message about the pipercross - I'm keen to know how it is. Think I'm gonna buy one too ![]() And if you're impatient, there's pics of a pipercross kit here Tim ![]() |

Offline | Yeah, 10:30 is way too early, it'd mean a departure from Canberra before 8am, which is criminal on a Sunday morning. I'd suggest getting to Robertson no earlier than say 12:30pm. Offline | I don't think I will be able to make it to Robertson this weekend. Besides it is not a very interesting drive from Canberra, unless you go via Bateman's Bay which makes it a long drive. However the ACT Mini Car Club is having their annual Show and Shine on Saturday out the front of the Canberra Centre in Civic. If anyone is interested in joining in they are meeting at the Albert Hall at 8am before setting up at the Canberra Centre. All cars on show need to bring an oil drip tray for insurance purposes. Offline | Tisk tisk, what a wuss I did the Batemans Bay drive last Saturday, not too bad at all. Now that does sound interesting. Are BMW Mini's welcome? Are you going to exhibit Dean? Offline | No, I was talking driving from Canberra to Bateman's Bay, then up the coast via Nowra to Wollongong to meet up with the others, then up Macquarie Pass to Robertson, then back to Canberra in the reverse direction or via Mittagong and Goulburn. I can't wait for an opportunity to travel up and down Clyde Mountain, and Brown Mountain between Cooma and Bega. Driving directly to Robertson from Canberra is all via the Hume and Illawara highways - not much fun in that. I met up with the ACT Mini Car Club yesterday at their weekly luch time meeting. They were quite friendly and interested in the BMW Mini and invited me to exhibit my car. Interestingly they hadn't had any real opportunities to have a close up look at one. They are also inviting Rolfe Classic to provide a car for the exhibition. I'm thinking that I will exhibit. My only concern is having numbers of the public touch, poke, and possibly scratch my car. I'm also a bit concerned about raising the profile of my car with certain undesirable members of the public as it is my daily drive and fairly unique in Canberra. If you would like to exhibit as well, we are meeting at the Albert Hall at 8am this Saturday. You will need a drip tray of some sort, I was planning to get a sheet of black plastic. You can leave at any time. I wasn't intending to enter the competition in the interests of good relations because I don't expect the general public to fully appreciate the effort involved in maintaining a classic Mini, compared with a new one, when voting.
