Offline | stalker! Is there a spotter's fee for finding new mini owners. After hearing of aussiemini and swamos stalk innocent mini drivers, I also chased down a mini driver this morning. The guy's name is Frank. He drives a Black Cooper with stripes. He is eager to come on the run on the 8th. Hopefully he will be joining our forum in the near future. We should start a challenge of who can attract new mini owners to the forum. Drove past Harry's Diner late last night. I must have missed the action. I did get surrounded by a posse of Mazda RX3's. Suprising, the S still pulls away when you have 5 adults in the car. Who said our car isn't a family car (lucky they were all flexible). Regards Dimitri |

| MINI2 Senior | Away for a few days Just to let you all know I will be away for most of the week to cover the ACT bushfires but I will be back (i hope) before the weekend. So what ever plans are made for the little run on the 26th count me in. I will be contactable on my mobile though. PS I now have a triple racing stripes and a yellow checkered roof on my Cooper now so keep an eye out for it. I think it looks pretty cool. Danny |

Offline | FRIDAY NIGHT AT HARRY'S Hey Swamos, Thanks for the welcome. I went for a quick spin through Harry's on Friday night, but it must have been before the clown in the Corvette lost control. What a tool! I don't know why people do stupid things right anywhere near that place. The Police are everywhere, the hide with video cameras and record rego's etc, all in unmarked cars. It's usually the young Ner'do-wells who do the dumb stuff and get pinched, the young guys in the crowd do encourage you as you drive out the driveway but hey my tyres cost $1000 a set, I'm not gonna waste $30 on you chump, but your girlfriend perhaps could be worth it. Harry's isn't really my scene either, it's pretty bevanish, but it's good to check out all the older restored cars and people there generally aren't idiots, just car enthusiasts. They do like the MINI too, so it'd be good to do a run through woth a few of us, it would really turn some heads. If I'm in for a cruise on a Friday night I'll do a fly by but I don't really stop and get out as parking is crap unless you get there at 5:00 - 6:00pm. I just like cruising through town then maybe a coffee at Park Rd or somewhere followed by a Mt Coot-tha or Bardon run. I think Aussiemini told me you live on the northside,I'm at Boondall so send me a PM if you like and we can exchange numbers if you like, (gee sounds like a come on, what would my wife say?) I should be in for some form of run this weekend. Aussiemini was talking about something on the 25th but in his recent post he's saying 26th. I'm out on the 26th but could manage something on the 25th (Saturday) or if anyone wants to do something on Friday night let me know and we'll hook up. Otherwise it's the run on the 8th of Feb which is a Saturday, is that correct? Cheers Jason 02 MCS gone after 2 years of fun and new friends, and 10 visits to the service dept at Brisbane BMW. Offline | Re: Re: NEW GUY TO BRISBANE GROUP I heard from first handers that a guy in a red corvette, lost control whilst under the influence and trying to impress the on lookers. he hit those same cheering fans at 40Kmph and pinned two girls under the car and ran over 4 others. broken, hip was the worst injury I have been told of. it's being covered VERY heavily on the other car forums. in response the police have ordered a three week crackdown called funnily enough operation hoon crackdown to target performance cars and especially gatherings. be VV careful in queensland for the next three weeks. |

Offline | Re: Re: stalker! Hey CooPz, was that the new opening at Brisbane BMW? I got an invite but I had to go visiting family at ESK. I would have like to have gone but then again I probably would have walked away with another car, aswell as my MINI. My bank balance doesn't need that just yet.I went out to Esk through Mt Glorious which was fun to a point ( I had my wife in the car) Going up from Samford was much more fun than going down the backside to Somerset Dam, brakes felt somewhat dimished by the time I got to the flats on the other side. Roads out that way aren't much chop, and pretty rough in the MCS. Hey I've noticed through pics that the first Cooper S has no glovebox and has a red bulb on the windscreen wiper stalk. What is this red bulb for? It will be good to meet you all at future meets. 02 MCS gone after 2 years of fun and new friends, and 10 visits to the service dept at Brisbane BMW. Offline | That's a rather odd choice for placement. Most non euro crooks would think you may have left your indicator on. I think that would have been a nice retro touch to the indicator stalk, the flashing bulb on the end rather than the signal in the speedo dial. Offline | Early spy shots showed the MINI did have a green LED in the end of the turn stork, but due to green and red, left and right, and you might not see it because of the wheel it was dropped. ![]() |

Offline | Ahh I see Snoopy. Hey I checked out your personal gallery Snoopy and noticed that you have 2 types of wheels in your pics. Did you go for the 16" or 17" alloys in silver or white? If it's white how do you live with the brake dust? Nice to see a Cooper S in a colour other than EB, not that there's anything wrong with EB it's just there's alot of them around. Offline | *unruffles feathers* Ahem, look blues great ok, it's common sure, common but that just helped confuse the cops when 5 blue minis go past a radar van they never know whom was which. Did I mention I got the clear tail lights, so from behind you know it's me? and stripes, yeah I'm getting big stripes to cover every inch of exposed paint work. and maybe I'll paint the roof red! *gags as he realises he has committed the faux pas equivilant of the blue wrx with gold wheels* Well it's too late now so I will LEARN to love my commonality. |

Offline | white 16" Long story, the picture with 17" was for Basil to help him keep focus on the MINI....well I go there (Hi Basil) . I wanted the X-lites in white had to settle for the 5 spoke but had to white, to lighten(make fun) up the car.The cleaning of the wheels in not that hard, the 5 spoke is simple, the silver is just as hard, and yes you can see the dust on the silver. I think I perfer the white dirty look than the silver, as you expect the white to be dirty but the silver just look ***** dirty. Yep it is good being a DS as the most of the group is EB. always looking to add more colour to the group. |

| MINI Traitor | Re: white 16" Guess who has the first set of EBC greenstuff pads in Queensland ![]() I quote (because I can touch type) "What Causes Brake Dust??? As lower cost brake pads wear or carbonise at temperatures found in braking, dust is released. Many pad manufacturers use materials that cause dust in their pads. EBC Greenstuff contains NONE of these, hence pads run cleaner. Plus pads do not surface carbon until 900-1000 deg F so in normal street use dust is almost enturely eliminated. Any dust that is generated in performance use is easily wiped/washed away without damage to alloy wheels. 'EBC Greenstuff won the 1999 UK Autotrade Magazine" INNOVATION AWARD for its clean running, high performance features.'" Should have them fitted after dinner!!!
