Offline | Great snap (probably taken by James, co-driver with Dale). Excellent day, I covered 425 ks and had a great time. Thanks to those who came, great to see a couple of new faces, Adam and Dale. Great looking cars, and bloody fast drivers. WAY you've got some competition there. I had to leave you when you all turned off to Deans Marsh. Hope that drive lived up to my recommendation. Dale, thanks for leading us on a pretty exciting run back from Apollo Bay. I just missed donating a couple of hundred dollars to Steve Brack's bucket. Some unfortunate bikie beat me to the radar. Close call. Worth doing again. Regards, ElTel |

Offline | Thanks all! Myself and Brett had a great time thanks again to Eltel 4 doing all the organizing & to Dale for the course.Eltel you missed a great fang through the otways to lorne, heavily cambered corners plenty of switch backs and some killer downhill hairpins. Thank god there was no revenue gathers around when Matt and I had an inpromptu 0-160kph "experiment" Think we got a few peoples attention coming the other way, they would come around a corner and theres Way and the next corner comes another blue mcs ,a few sturn stares our way.I kept saying to Brett when people ask why i bought a mini this is why! Anyway thanks again hope to see you all soon & post plenty of pics SCOTT |

Offline | Thanks all for a great day! I had a lot of fun, in particular the very last stretch of run towards GOR with Scott. What happened to Adam? I thought he was behind Scott but I never saw him again after I took off. You sure are right Scott, I think we scared a few motorist coming the other way. The only thing that slowed me slightly was getting stuck behind the Vectra for 5 or 6 corners. I was really pushing it on that last section, with my tyres squelling on most corners and the tail wiggling around under heavy braking. No doubt about it, I am under tyred. I need Adam's 215 P zero's. BTW Scott, I manage to hit 180kmh on that straight because I was quite a bit behind you guys when I started. But we are not in this for the top speed, we prefer corners! ![]() |

Offline | Thanks for your concern, but we made it. I 'was' close behind Scott until he performed a beautiful overtaking manouvre around that dreaded Vectra on one of the last (semi) straight bits. I'm well endowed, but not that well endowed. Needless to say I can now describe every detail of the rear of a Vectra in great length... Anyway, what a fantastic day! Great cars. Great roads and most importantly great guys. Thanks for making dad and I so welcome. I (we) seriously can't wait for the next run. As Scott so rightly put it; yesterday was the reason we all bought Cooper Ss (except for Dale, who bought his for working overtime blowing up cars!!!) Look forward to seeing some more pics. I'll try and post a few of mine later today, maybe even some video - although the stabilty function on the camera was getting a workout at 170km/h... Once again, thanks to everyone and particularly Eltel, much appreciated. Adam |

Offline | Yes I would like to thank everyone for a great day. Like most runs down that road there were a few hairy moments but that is what makes it so exciting. Thanks Eltel for organizing the event again and thanks to everyone for tuning up as it would not have been as fun without you all. There is nothing better than seeing another bunch of Mini’s in my rear view mirror taking the corner as hard as eachother ! Bring on the Alpine Run !!! ![]() We have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, its dark and we're wearing sun glasses. Hit it! |

Offline | Guys, those two pictures are absolutely brilliant!!! Any chance of getting a blown up version? Oh, maybe not with Dale's al-cheapo camera while his super camera sits at home being pampered. How about yours Matt? Do you have a larger version of that picture? You guys are very creative in your picture taking I have to say. Adam, you gonna have to show us a few of yours from that Coolpix 5700. Being an advertising man I expect some good pictures! ![]() Also, forgot to thank ElTel for organising. Please feel free to organise another one. ![]() |

Offline | Thanks again to all for coming along, and for Dale's detailed knowledge of the curvy bits, and keeping us entertained at lunchtime with tales of exploding Ford engines, suspensions and anything else that can go pop, and James, Dale's co-pilot for taking snaps of just about everything from every angle. For those that saw the other EB/W that was in the carpark at Skene's Creek, I left my buscard and he has since contacted me, so we may have another (albeit EB/W) S owner joining us. It was a pleasure to meet Adam and his dad, Lynton (hope I spelt that correctly). Lynton has owned a number of classic Cooper Ss over the years, so it was great to hear his comments about how the new cars performed. Were you as crazy (sorry, as good) a driver as Adam demonstrated on Sunday? Adam showed us the difference that Pirelli NZeros can make against the runflats. The sports seats installation looked and performed beautifully with no danger of Lynton going to sleep on the way. ![]() To the rest of the group, Matt and friend (Jason?), Scott and frere Brett, and of course Wayne setting the pace, and proving that high speed overtaking is really mind over matter, and is quite safe at any speed. ![]() I had an absolute ball and again learned a bit more about the personality of the little beast. Thanks guys for giving me wings. Regards, ElTel |

Offline | Thanks for the wrap (I think! ). As for the old man - he denies being as crazy (or as good! ) but I've heard stories and seen footage that say otherwise...As for the seats, I can put you in contact with the right people if anyone is interested at a later date. Matt, thanks for forwarding on the pics, however I'm still having difficulties opening them. Think it's a problem at my end this time, so I'll try and work it out tomorrow. As for my shots, I got some beauties (it's not hard with six Cooper Ss really ). Scott, I think you're right mate, we should definately be invoicing BMW Australia! Here's a taste, but I'll set up a gallery and pop them in there.Once again, I know I've already said this, but thanks again to all. Bring on the Alpine Run! Adam |

Offline | Melody, I am so sorry that you and Andrew weren't there. That would have to be the first meet anywhere that you guys haven't attended. So sad. I missed you both, but we'll do it again sometime, promise. How was Nora?We had a good turnout, as in Victoria it's quality, not quantity that makes a good MINI drive, and you were sorely missed. The drive was quite mad. Wayne reset his computer when we left Melbourne and by the time we got to Apollo Bay (which is 150 km of death defying curves, cliff-faces and few safe places to overtake) he had averaged 94kph! Gives you some idea of the pace that we set ourselves. Not a good outing for the wives. From the rear, the sight of five MINIs overtaking SS Commodores, buses, caravans, kombis, trucks was awesome - nothing stood in our way. The trip home was even faster and I peeled off to go home and left them all to do more exploring and multi-car overtaking. The next time we do it, I'm sure that we'll fit it around your availability. Love to see you there. We also need a BRG in the group - badly. ![]() Regards, ElTel |
