| MINI2 Regular | Carl Nice car. The stripes would make it go faster than mine, for sure! You'll find the Sydney Crowd hanging out in Meetings & Events - Australia The Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane crowds get together quite regularily for a burn. In the case of the Sydney crowd, they're a bunch of cool people. Watch out for S4Matt and IML337 -- as these guys have "points to burn" Nick |

Offline | Love it - should be more of it. Well worth the effort in downloading it - I lurve broadband. It was a bit hard to tell speed going up the twisties but I figure it was a good rate of knots given the lights flashing on you dials. ![]() Last edited by Harry Morant : Jan 28th, 2003 at 10:08 AM. |

Offline | Tim Like the footage ... don't know how you managed to mount the camera but it seems to work really well though it would be nice to get a better view of the tacho & speedo One question though ... in the twisty stuff I noticed a little orange light flickering when you were pushing it ... is this the ASC/DSC warning light? The car didn't seem to be experiencing any problems (at least you didn't look too worried ) so I was wondering whether you were noticing your little electronic helper or not?Cheers Steve |

Offline | STEVE! you're the same warped that used to post on audi-sport.net aren't you? remember me? red A3 - bodykit and all that - Cosmo cafe Double Bay Thursday nights... Have you bought a MINI?Anyhow, the bracket has a big suction cap that sticks to the rear window and the camera is basically placed on the parcel shelf in the centre. It was actually made by one of the other audi-sport guys you may have met. Yes, it's the DSC light flashing. I know it doesn't look like I'm going that fast, but when you notice that I change into third gear at over 100km/h and how often the DSC is going nuts, you get the idea of how hard I was driving... I knew it was going off, but I didn't look worried because I'd driven that stretch before with some other S's and I knew what to expect. That and the fact that my DSC light flashes every day ![]() The speedo and tacho are viewable when you watch the footage from the camera onto a TV, but by the time it gets compressed for internet use, you lose the definition. Am currently investigating another smaller camera that films the gauges and can be edited in with a 'picture in picture' style effect. Cheers, Tim ![]() ![]() |
