Sunday 9th February sees the running of the 2003 Classic Quarter Mile Sprints at Sandalford Estate, Caversham. According to the web site, http://www.classicrally.com.au/class...ile_sprint.htm
entries include 2002 MINI Cooper S; 2002 MINI Cooper and 1968 Mini Moke. Up against Turbo Porsches, WRXs, Ferraris and assorted classic of all ages.

What better way to spend a Sunday than sampling the delights of Sandalford and supporting the MINI/Mini entries. Gates open at 9:00am sprints start at 10:00am entry fee of $5.00 goes to Canteen.

I have a MINI Cooper S on order (due around May) and live in Perth. I'll see what we're up to on Sunday and maybe come along. I'll look out for you (Black Cooper?) if I make it.
By the way, the new machine should look a bit like this (provided the attach gizmo works);

well warm up the digital camera for me and show me some home town snaps. Last time I was there was 1973, being born I think we won the WAFL that week, so I was a good luck baby. Or so my dad said as he went on an all night drinking bender leaving me with mum. hehe.

Didn't catch up with you today, but I did go along to Sandalford. Didn't stay too long, it was quite warm (42.4C at Perth airport which is quite nearby). Attached are couple of MINI pics, looks like the STI was getting thirsty!

Hi David,
Yes, I did the same, got there at 10 left at 11. Have some pics I will post later. The STI wasn't the only one getting thirsty! The Cooper S didn't seem to do too well in the run I saw, wonder if he left his ASC+T switched on.

I was visiting the Mini dealer in Canberra today and there was a EB/W Cooper S with WA plates "MINI S". A long way from home.
