Offline | Hi Lisa Welcome to what we like to call “MINI group therapy” (aka MINI2). I for one enjoy being in therapy. What wheels are you getting with your MINI? Must say the red white and stripes combo does look very good; saw it for the first time on our last run and LIKED IT? If you are ever out of an drive in you MINI and you find at the end of the drive somehow you ended up in QLD (ask BOO about this) you will have to catch up with the QLD owners. Snoopy |

Offline | HMMM...I like to look it in a positive light, I may be wasting valuable work time online but atleast it's not inapropriate adult related material, and hey I'm building relationships and networking ![]() 02 MCS gone after 2 years of fun and new friends, and 10 visits to the service dept at Brisbane BMW. You don't know the meaning of practical until you've owned a Camry! (seriously it's not a bad car though ) |

| MINI2 Regular | Hello Lisa, Welcome aboard, I'm sure you enjoy it here as much as I have. Hopefully it won't be too long before your baby arrive! In the meanwhile, here's one with Driving Lights! Cheers, Andy. PS. Forgot to mention, we also bought our BMW from Alto Artarmon, they're not too bad! --- 2002 Mini Cooper Pure Silver/ Black | CVT | Driving Lights | Leather |

Offline | Re: Re: Delivery Oops - sorry, I expect then that you were one of the first buyers when they hit the market. I remember when my husband ordered his BMW we were talking to the salesman about them and he told us then it was about a 6+ month wait. But just think, you've had more time to enjoy yours than most!! I'm glad it was all worth it Boo, maybe I should have got the navigation system so I don't take a wrong turn too!! Oh well, too late, didn't order it so I'll just have to take my chances KevsCoop & Kuper - thanks for the photos, I'm building up quite a collection on my desktop, I think I'll have to make up a screensaver from them! Snoopy, I'm getting the 16" wheels, I thought hard about the 17" but I didn't like the mag options as much (could be just being a girlie). I also considered the white wheels, but I also know how much cleaning they will need, so I've stuck with the silver. My decision today has to be whether I change my order to get DCS! Thanks everyone for your nice warm welcomes and photos. Have a great day Cheers, Lisa ![]() |

Offline | I recommend getting DSC - it's saved me a few times! ![]() The original car I ordered didn't have it, but fortunately the car I found in the showroom two months into the wait period did have it, so I took that instead. For ~$800, DSC is CHEAP in my opinion! Also, I've driven S's and Coopers with all sizes of wheels, and it's purely cosmetic at the end of the day - I noticed no handling differences at all. Offline | Hi Tim, Your timing is perfect. I was just about to phone the dealer and change my order to DSC and it is nice to get another opinion that backs me up. As for the wheels, I'm glad you've driven different options, because that seals it for me. I was talking to my husband last night and both you and he agree, that it will be almost all cosmetic. We did talk about how the 17" could make it more go-karty with tyre walls when cornering etc. but I think I'll stick with my 16" as I like the look of them. Cheers, Lisa ![]() |

Offline | 17" makes the ride a little harsher but that's all... Unless you're driving REALLY hard it's no different. The 15" rimmed Cooper I drove all last week had basically the same handling as my S in 95% of the situations I put it through. It had a softer ride though. If you like the look of the 16" rims the best, then get them for sure. |

Offline | Lisa, welcome to the MINI world, anytime that you're heading to Victoria please get in touch. We have a really enthusiastic friendly group here who will give you a warm welcome. You've chosen a fine looking car, and you're going to have heaps of fun. The wait is hard, but really worth it. Regards, ElTel |

Offline | I have to agree I got to drive with my first red Cooper S on the weekend and they looked great, Still to see black, wine, indi blue, white, and the mysterious pink Cooper S. did I say pink? yes apparently one on the coast has had a full body respray in cotton candy pink. A friend saw it and asked if that was a colour option I said no thats a crime against nature... I will still try to track it down and Mini stalk it. So I says to the cops, I says, "nah mate, that wasn't my tyres screeching, that was my passengers" |

Offline | Welcome LisaR. I must admit, my work productivity has decreased in a big way ever since goining this site. I have been on numerous sites from my previous cars makes and i sold my S2000 to buy the MCS. The s2000 was the best website i had visited but i must say MINI2 is just as good. Plenty of info and great people. Congrats on the car and enjoy the waiting experience. ![]() Nick Dark Silver/White MCS Build/June 2002 |

| MINI2 Regular | Welcome: Us Blokes welcome a MINI Chick! Lisa Good to see you posting here. I wonder who sent you? ![]() Scott at Artarmon is great. Low pressure sales works best. Another dealer was stressing out over "colour choice" and whether Mrs nhodge would agree with my choice. Jeez, sales guys, Mrs nhodge is smarter than that, and we blokes have more style than the 1950s stereotypes.... Rant over, back on topic. Good to see you here. Mini on! Nick |

Offline | Hi again everyone, Nick - yes I wonder who sent me here ... it will come to me As you can see, I've had fun chatting to members of the forum, and it certainly makes waiting for my mini a lot easier. The next thing I need to do is get my driving skills up to the task. Boo - when I'm game to take my mini out on the track I'll let you know, but I expect I'll be a bit of protective parent for a while with it, but even if I come out to watch the first time, it would be fun, all those mini's in the same place, how cool will that look!! Cheers, Lisa ![]() |
