Offline | G'Day everyone, I'm so excited I just ordered my Mini Cooper S, Chilli Red with White Roof with fun extras. After first getting a quote in August last year it has taken me until this week to order one, but at least now I have ordered exactly what I want. Now all I have to do is wait until MAY ! So I thought I'd send a hello message and see what the rest of the Australian (especially Sydney Siders) have to say on the forum about their minis. Chat soon Cheers, Lisa ![]() |

Offline | Hi Jase, Thanks, and yes the colour was the easiest option for me to pick. We used to have a Leyland Mini when we were 17 and I think the rebirth is fantastic because there are so few cars on the road with so much character. I went the white bonnet stripes with driving lights so it should look pretty cool on the road. Can't wait to get a photo. If you know anywhere I can get a cool photo of an S in our colour I would like to put it on my desktop while I wait patiently. Cheers, Lisa |

Offline | Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you some that I've taken of mine, it won't have the driving lights or stripes but it will suffuce until you get yours up. You can send me email address privately by clicking the PM icon at the bottom of my posts. Offline | Re: G'Day & Woohoo I just ordered My Cooper S Hey welcome aboard Lisa You've picked the best place to find out all about your car! Just be careful it's a bit addictive. if it's any consolation the time will fly waiting for your mini. Have fun motoring, and if you're up in queensland come visit our group, I'm sure Boo from sydney can show you the way, he drives up here often enough haha![]() So I says to the cops, I says, "nah mate, that wasn't my tyres screeching, that was my passengers" |

Offline | Thanks Thanks everyone for such a warm welcome, CooPZ you are right, it is very addictive but a nice way to wait for my mini. I've got some great photos now, so now I can stare at my monitor and imaging driving in my S - I'm thinking the old pacific highway would be fun! Cheers, Lisa ![]() |

Offline | Welcome aboard! I had a Leyland MINI as my first car too ![]() Can I ask which dealer you ordered from? Don't worry though, the wait is worthwhile ![]() Cheers, Tim P.S. I chased an old couple in a bright orange Renault 12 (circa late 70's model and even had a half roll cage) up the Old Pacific Highway in my Cooper S and there were times I was struggling to catch him - boy did he have that thing wound up! Was much fun though... ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Hi Tim, Thanks for the welcome. I ordered it through Alto Artarmon. Scott was so helpful and never pressured me but was always available to answer my questions. I was very fussy with options and he did research to help me find out when things were going to be available. I never got to drive our old Mini as I coldn't drive a manual at that stage, but I passengered in it a lot and we used to do Sunday drives (obvioulsy nice windy roads) and I always wanted one. I even looked at buying an old one a few years ago, but the romance of an old mini just didn't exist once I saw it, but the new one - can't wait! Cheers, Lisa ![]() |

Offline | Ah heLLman, love the bonnet stripes, they look so cool. I recommend that you look at getting the driving lights as they compliment the stripes beautifully!! As for the 17" wheels, I was sure I would order it with them, but when I looked at the mag options I just didn't like the 17" wheels as much (might be a girlie thing)! Love the photos - can't wait to set up my own gallery. Chat soon Lisa ![]() |

Offline | Delivery G'day, I ordered mine on 10th Feb and was given a w/c March 17 build and delivery around 10th May. The waiting is incredibly overrated and I've only been waiting 2 days - how will I cope ![]() |
