| MINI Traitor | Gary, There is a mob in Melbourne called Quattro Sports Zentrum that makes clear protectant kits using the 3m film (amongst other things). I contacted them first in June, and again in August and asked them to do a kit for the MCS, and they said they would be doing it soon. However, not a word from them. It's nearly too late for me, as I already have a couple of monster chips, and I'm starting to not be able to see the point in covering up and protecting my stonechips. The other problem is that they seem to be confusing us with BMW/Porsche/Merc owners, as last time I spoke they were talking about $500 for the kit. Well, by the time I get the thing to Brisbane, and have it fitted, I can't see me getting it ont he car for much less than $800 !! ![]() I mean seriosly, given that stuff has a life of about 5 years, I could nearly replace the whole bonnet for that!!! A local panel beater said that he could make the chips go away anytime I want for $120..... Anyway, if you want to look at their site, go here They don't seem like bad guys though I think they were also doing some tuning stuff for the MCS as well.BTW there is a MINI2 FAQ on this as well. You might be able to import it from the states cheaper... I'll send them a reminder email today..... Clubman less.... ![]() |

Offline | thanks for the info swamos qsz don't seem to have picked up the pace at all... or at least they don't have anything advertised on their site! i found the FAQ on my searches, but i simply CAN'T find aussie suppliers / fitters for the products listed! coupla questions though... 1. who would you have had fit it [especially if i order from OS] 2. is the 3M stuff any good [i emailed 3M directly last night, just to see if there's anyone doing it in sydney!] 3. does everybody have significant chips?!? wasn't sure whether i'd bother with a bra, but it sounds almost mandatory given your brief experience! will keep the thread updated with my progress! any other experienced MINI2ers out there... even if it's just with fitting this stuff! l8r .g Last edited by gazah : Feb 13th, 2003 at 02:30 AM. |
