Offline | New Aussie Mini Hi, I picked up my Cooper S today after a 4 week wait. I just love this car, definitely a car built for enthuisiastic drivers. To cut a long story short, I ran into another Cooper S about 6 weeks ago, and fell in love with the car. I took the opportunity to test drive a car from my local dealer. They kindly gave me the car for 24 hours. I returned it the next day with 500km on the clock, mainly on windy backroads, up and down mountains etc. I felt a little guilty about the 500km, but I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. The dealer was happy, they knew it was only a matter of time ..... Picked up the car today. Cooper S, BRG, white roof, DCS, 16" light wheels. Passed on all the other options (they dont make you go faster!). I intend to get the works kit (if and when it is released). My daughter who is 9 did much of the test drive with me. She is in love with car more than me! She allready is trying to talk me into keeping the car so she can have it when she gets her license. She has taken to calling the car "Maddie", and speaking to her like a friend, encouraging her to behave and go faster. Therefore, Maddie it is! Robbo |

Offline | Hey Boo, Thanks for the reply. When reading your post the penny dropped! You mentioned your partners name, you drive a BRG.... sounded familiar, then I looked at your gallery! YOU are the mini I ran into (at wakefield park BMW club). How freaky. I was running the big fat blue BMW! Seeing your car running at a track day opened my eyes to the cooper S. I was kind of leaning towards getting a smaller dedicated track car well before seeing yours in action, but seeing how good your mini looked and went made me pursue it further. I test drove the car about a week and half later, and placed the order. I actually wanted chilli red, but could get a BRG quickly, so took up that option. The car is great, and I intend to use it for 10-15 track events a year, as well as a daily driver. I've got wheels, tyres and brakes on order, and should have it sorted out in around 6 weeks. Count me in for the works kit when it arrives! I still have the BMW, I cant bear to part with it. By the way I won my class at Wakefield in February with 1:14. I look forward to trying the mini on the same tracks. My honest opinion is stock (running on similar tyres)the mini won't beat the times of the BMW, but once I get the works kit and some better brakes I think it will be very close. I also believe the mini will be a lot more fun to drive, better handling and more "chuckable". I can't make the run on 16th, as I am actually going to the BMW club motorkhana. Motorhanas are one thing where the mini will blow most cars out the water! Look forward to seeing you again at some stage. Robbo |
