| MINI2 Regular | Bugger! Lost Opportunity! I flew from Sydney to Brisbane on Sunday for work. As I was checking in at the Qantas Club counter, who was checking in to my immediate left? Megan Gale. Now, she was with her current Beau, so I was rather reluctant to say hi! Only after did I realise she was travelling to Melbourne to compete in the MINI Celebrity Challenge @ the Grand Prix! Bugger, bugger, bugger. The perfect opportunity to talk about the MINI, its handling characteristics, how to get the most out of the beastie in corners, IML337's heel-toe technique... all lost. | MINI2 Regular | Re: Re: Bugger! Lost Opportunity! "bugger her" : strangely enough, that's what Mrs nhodge said. I am in Brisvegas every 3-4 weeks and usually chockers with work appointments et al... and if I hollered every time I was in a different city - there would be a special forum just for me! ...should remember this however. |

| MINI Traitor | Re: Re: Re: Bugger! Lost Opportunity! Jugman, mate Now I think we both know that I didn't mean that in the sense of the word that you're using. We are Australians, and bugger is a much more widely used term than the dictionary definition would have you believe. Ie, if someone were to say 'He's a real bugger ' they may in fact mean that as a term of endeerment, however, if they said 'He's a bit of a bugger ' this may be intended as probably one of the most insulting things one Aussie can say about another Aussie. So, when I said 'Bugger her' I did infact mean it as a bit of a joke, and in no way meant to suggest that I had/would/like to bugger her. In fact, let me go on the record that (Mrs Steve aside) if I knew that woman in the biblical sense ' buggering her ' would be quite a way down the list of things we'd be doing to fill our time together. Playing the back nine (so to speak) ...... ooh bugger this, this is sounding worse and worse..... ![]() ![]() Clubman less.... ![]() |

| MINI2 Senior | Well, The first job was a "Food & Beverage Attendant" (glorified name for a waiter) in Functions and stuff. The second one, is, you guessed it "Food & Beverage Attendant", both in functions, a la carte restaurant, bar, etc. Which is good, because all my training at TAFE was in an a la carte restaurant. | MINI2 Senior | Coolness! Yeah, I'm always interested to get more work in the dull periods. I haven't had work at the first job since Christmas day! It's just been SO dead. Though, at the moment, Work's expected to pick up in both jobs shortly... and I've gotta fit it in with TAFE, so I don't wanna get over my head! But I'm getting on my way to affording my own mini!
