...and then there's poor Grace McClure, "the face of Fosters", who broke her pelvis when she crashed her Cooper into the wall.

Hope your pelvis gets better real soon.

Harry, I reckon they're pretty grouse, too. Here's one more.

Just another twist to the race. After last year's race we were told that all of the cars would be taken back to Germany to be crushed. Not so, they were all red last year, but most were repainted into all of the available colours and they were the same cars as last year.

But since this was the LAST MINI CELEBRITY race, they will definitely be crushed at some time in the future.

Next year the celebrities will be driving BMW Z4s. Sob.

I hear that the BMW sponsorship of the F1 will be ending after the next one (???)... and that Mercedes were going to be providing it in the future.
I also hear that BMW are going to sponsor a Rally of the type similar to the Trading Post Rally with the cost being $1500 per car (including accom and meals for two people) ... how good wil that be

AJ, I think BMW have a five-year contract and I'm pretty sure it's still got a couple of years to go.

Re the $1500 rally, the BMW Clubs are organising a 3 day rally in November (not over Melbourne Cup Day weekend, since the Vic Club are going to Tassie for the long weekend), that is probably a mixture of observation, track, slalom, etc. along with some other fun stuff. It's being run through the Hunter Valley region, staying in 5-star accommodation.

However, if they are doing a quasi-Trading Post Rally for that sort of figure, then it's worth considering. Shame you probably won't be here. I'll take your spot.

Cool, I might have to join, then get out more to the valley for some track knowledge (and to stock up on more wine)
